Social Distortion filming MTV hit Video "Ball & Chain" BEHIND THE SCENES

Leaky old burned out warehouse in the worst part of South Central LA is where this was shot .On 35mm film to be transferred to magnetic tape. Action always looks better on film. MTV made the band what they are today.

Dennis always played the coolest guitars. I remember reading a behind the scenes interview with the photographer for the S/T album and he said the flame guitar in the back cover picture was actually Dennis' guitar, but he thought it looked better up front so he had Mike hold it.

True , Dennis was a wheeler dealer. He could talk you out of your best leather jacket.
