the bass players voice is straight up BEAUTIFUL! and the entire band's harmonies are on point and in key! they should seriously do an acoustic album, or a "heroes" album kinda like what rage against the machine did with "renegades"

Saw them live at UCSD stadium in California 20 years ago with the makeup in the early years. I'm not getting any younger myself but somehow this band is the greatest. They have gone a different route from years ago but it's still bad ass. I challenge anyone to play the guitar better than Mike Ness.
@imvandenh5 жыл бұрын
No one is a bigger fan of Social D or Mike Ness in particular than I am. Seen them live more times than I can count and shed tears when I hear many of their songsbecause of the connection they have to my own life. Timeless indeed. But I am sorry to report, I am more than up to that challenge. Not bragging here nor am I slamming one of my heroes down but I am a more skilled guitar player than Mike. He is really nothing extraordinary as a player. He's good and does not go for flash or try to play beyond his ability, which is something many would do be wise to put into practice in their own playing. But I could play circles around him. My legato is fast and clean and I can sweep pick arpeggios as good as anyone considered a shredder or master. I have a solid background in theory and have mastered more scales than kids at a fat camp. None of that makes me "better," but without a doubt more skilled. However, he has a tone to die for and songwriting skills that I will never have. I guess my point is that being better or worse at guitar or whatever is subjective, subject to opinion. I know folks who would say Mike is crap compared to myself but I would never allow such a thing when the man inspired me the way he did and whose music continues to move me and make me feel those certain feelings in the pit of my stomach that guys aren't supposed to talk about because it means they're soft or their pussies or something.

@@imvandenh I think you're gonna have to post a video of your fretboard scrubbing and let the public decide if you can play circles around Mike Ness.

I don't think they suck. Yeah, they changed, and they aren't necessarily punk anymore (if they ever were), but the music stayed good, and that's what matters to me, as a fan. And they grew up (lyrically)...they started singing about stuff that matter on AI and 21CB, and I'm really glad to see it. I understand why some people don't like them but they are a really good band.

Why do people give a crap about tattoos so much? Tattoos are an expression of who you are. Some of them are dumb, yes, but some of them have true meaning and are an extension of your personality. That's not dumb at all. The dumb ones are also a testament to the fact that people make mistakes, and sometimes you have to pay for them for the rest of your life. No one person is immune to that. And who fucking cares about fighting? Why does it always digress to who can kick who's ass. Grow up peeps!

@TheNewMusicNetwork I hear what you are saying but at this juncture I think he looks very cool with the look he has on this tour..Some guys look very cool with thinning hair and some guys look ridiculous with plugs. sometimes its better to let nature take its course. when you start to mess around with the hair plugs and other forms of cosmetic surgery you run the risk of it looking too fake and that would totally suck. ala, Mickey Rourke.
