I chose to have this song played at my 33 years young sisters funeral last month. She loved social d as much as I do, and it was perfect for her life. I really thought she was invincible with everything she overcame in life and beat, surviving the unthinkable time and time again. She lived for the moment. I wanted her sons to hear this song played to help them realize life can be cut too short and appreciate every moment.

When I was young I was invincible I find myself not thinking twice I never thought about no future It's just a roll of the dice But the day may come when you got something to lose And just when you think you're done paying dues You say to yourself, "Dear God, what have I done?" And hope it's not too late 'cause tomorrow may never come Reach for the sky 'cause tomorrow may never come Reach for the sky 'cause tomorrow may never come Yesterday is history And tomorrow's a mystery But baby, right now It's just about you and me You can run, you can hide just like Bonnie and Clyde Reach for the sky, ain't never gonna die And I thank the Lord for the love that I have found And hold you tight 'cause tomorrow may never come Reach for the sky 'cause tomorrow may never come Reach for the sky 'cause tomorrow may never come So if you please, take this moment Try if you can to make it last Don't think about no future And just forget about the past And make it last Reach for the sky 'cause tomorrow may never come (Reach for the sky, ain't never gonna die) Reach for the sky 'cause tomorrow may never come (Reach for the sky, ain't never gonna die) Reach for the sky 'cause tomorrow may never come (Reach for the sky, ain't never gonna die) Reach for the sky 'cause tomorrow may never come M Ness

Someone else here said that SD is the one band that suits all phases of their life. I find that to be true for me as well. Ness just has that talent for writing about whats real and can be related to by most folks. They have helped carry me through my teens, 20s, 30s, and presently 40s. And hopefully many more years to come, though tomorrow is promised to no one.

I'd been a fan of the original version for many years. But then in summer 2020, in the thick of the pandemic, weeks away from the birth of my first child (my son), I stumbled across this version and it hit me in the heart so hard it brought me to tears. Then on the day my son was born my brother was found dead in his apartment. I wish I could thank these guys for how much this song means to me.

The world may be a big place and you may seem so small in it, but know it wouldn't be the same without your presence. Life can get tough and times but I know you can get stronger. The downs will always plateau at some point and you will always be able to pick yourself up. I hope you can always find some happiness within yourself during your dark times. Just remember, even people you don't know, appreciate you.

I’ve seen social D ten times in my life the first in 1992 fresh out of high school in the Marines in Hawaii. I’ve been going to concerts since I was 5 years old and have been to tons. Mike Ness is so underrated in the music industry it’s stupid. I took my 4 year to see social d just 2 weeks ago, he knows every song and this being his favorite one of all. Social Distortion has never put on a shitty show ever and probably never will for that fact. Glad I grew up a punk and I’ll die a punk.
