When I was 14-15 , My parents refused to buy a phone for me. Almost all of my friends had a smartphone with them at that time and I really used to hate my parents for it. 9 years later, I can see why they didn't let me have a smartphone. All those friends are now addicted to social media and are struggling to do even minor tasks at work/home without looking up at their phone. I am not a productivity machine. I do procrastinate at times but my condition is not as severe as their's.

A month ago my screentime was booming at 10-11 hours daily but then with discipline I tried dopamine detox which helped a lot reducing my screentime to 1 hour.

I have a list what people can do instead of scrolling social media 1. Read a book 2. Do Excercise or yoga 3. Daily plan one task and complete it. 4. Stay away from social media freaks. 5. If u want to use it just limit your time. Believe me guyss, I haven't used Instagram for more than 3-4 months now and I don't get bored , just give time to your hobbies ❤

My parents gave me smartphone when I was 13 and hooked for years I spend more than 8 hours everyday after that I stopped going out , stop playing outside I stopped talking to my friends ,I stopped talking to girls . I was this too much hooked to phone I prefer to be alone I made my mind not going to family occasions not going to functions . I made my brain this much affected that I created my own perception of being alone don’t want anybody I’m my life it completely affected my decision making, natural instinct,health,relationships , communication skills my brain was fogged for many years I always I’m 23 now still this day I struggle a lot to face many things in real life

I'm 19 and I deleted all my social media, I still connect with my friends super easily and I don't have trouble relating to or communicating with them. I don't feel pressured to impress others anymore, and I don't have that constant feeling of being unsatisfied. I can see who are my real friends who actually want to talk to me in real life. Overall, it's much better without social media-no more procrastination and craving of the dopamine you receive from platforms like Instagram. Deleting it helped me focus on my own life more, and what I want. Do it, it's completely worth it!

For those who wants to quit social media, it's not a habit, it's an addiction. The easiest way is to just delete the app and forget it , you have to kill the FOMO(fear of missing out) , once you realise you are missing nothing is life , you can quit social media ( Many people will ask what about our online friends who we text and just can't abandon them, just switch to an app which only allows texting and has no short duration content . Prime example of such an app would be discord)

I'm 18, still I don't have any personal mobile phone...I use my mom's phone whenever needed but she allow this only for checking school or tuition groups .....This phone has only KZbin as social media app.. For the first few years...I used to think that this is not fair.....In my friends circle, I've seen that everyone have their personal phones ...I used to get jealous of them and blamed my luck...but now I've realised that - It's all worth it! I've never got addicted to such apps...and I can always focus on my studies.. Thanks to my mom...💕

Disable notifications permissions in the settings so you won't see notifications more often. we open social media apps mostly from notifications. I don't know if it is possible in IOS but in android you can do it for all the apps.

I have been addicted a lot because of SM since 2020 but abhi kaafi had tak controlled hai,ab to bas Instagram par apne purane doston ko dekhti hoon. My main source of entertainment is movies and music as well as cycling. Social Media scrolling is less but thankfully my addiction is controlled.

Tbh I can’t relate to anything said in this video. I just spend 2-3 hours on KZbin. I don’t have Snapchat, fb, twitter or Instagram accounts or apps in my phone. But KZbin shorts take a lots of my time. And my sleep is just disturbed which is partially because of KZbin but not completely. Major reason are mosquitos. Lastly, when I have important work, I don’t even have time to even pick my call. When I see my phone after the work like after 7-8 hours, I feel surprised, that how could I not play any song or not see any short video in the entire day 😂😂 however your video 80-90% talk about social validation. I don’t seek any social validation through watching KZbin shorts. And about difficult methods, my KZbin app used to force close in like 10 seconds of playing and it went on like this for 2 months, but still my habit didn’t improve. But I think, I would stop from now. Because I remember now, how much I love to read, to dance and to eat food, which doesn’t involve KZbin shorts in anyways😂😂😂

I had around 4 5 hour usage on instagram daily in June 2022, One day i randomly decided to leave that app ( no motivational video, nothing) and after that i never looked back on instagram. If you are having multiple addictions, leave one at a time, i replaced social media with books.

i am proud to say that i am 19 years old and almost everyone in my age have smartphone but i don't own any smartphone and that's my personal choice i have a laptop but my screen time not more than 2 hours on it bcoz it's hard stay active on laptop , i have social media accounts but bcoz i don't own any smartphone i am not addicted to any social media platform and this is also a tip from my side that if u r addicted to ur smart phone then buy a keypad phone and use that phone on regular basis and keep ur smartphone in lock and only on weekdays use ur smartphone this will help u to slowly come out of the loop of smartphone addiction.
