I’m so happy to see more and more people make content about how social media is literally destroying society. I haven’t had any social media since I’ve been 17 years old. I’m now 26 and so far I have not met a single person that doesn’t have it. I will try to humbly say I do KZbin like I’m on KZbin all the time But I don’t really consider it social media. I hope that we as people can slowly get off social media and kind of like revolt against it because it’s insane to me watching everyone around me be so addicted to these platforms. I’m so thankful about whatever it was inside of me That told me to get off social media at such a young age because I can totally tell the difference and I don’t mean it in a boastful way.

i went off all social media for like 3 months and MAN when I tell you everything felt so stupid and pointless after. i'd open tiktok and nothing would interest me like why am I worried about drama between x,y and z ? or the constant ads trying to get me to buy stuff. social media is definitely a problem BUT we as a society in these current times are a problem!! Now more than ever sex is everywhere in shows, movies, the songs on the radio, soft porn literally on any app that kids get on. It's a conversation to be had, thanks for the conversation starter

This is so true! I deleted my account on Facebook 5 years ago. I never subscribed to any of the others. It’s such a colossal waste of time. Society has become intellectually lazy and extremely starved for attention. Coupled with reality TV, the concept of discretion and privacy has lost its meaning and created so much toxicity. No thanks.

Thank you for this!!!! I could imagine kids trying to do homework and fighting the urge to check social media every 5 minutes. I just picked up a smoothie today and the cashier was talking on her phone. The other young person was sitting on the counter probably on social media. I had to wait for the young lady to end her call. Social media is making people dumb, unprofessional etc. Add this to the list of why I want to leave the USA. Your rant is justified and a sad reality.

Yes absolutely. It’s troubling actually, when I think about maybe having kids in the future (who knows if that will happen either lol). Kids are exposed to way too much and they are becoming more shallow and vapid by the day. I realized that I’m 33 years old and I have probably never felt so down on my body/self than this year. I used to think that I didn’t get jealous of other people, like I didn’t look at others and feel bad about myself, but suddenly it has been happening and I have been working to try to change that. Social media shows you people who look incredible and perfect. It also is wrapped in the fact that I’m just now actively trying to date later in life, so before I didn’t really worry as much about appealing to people. A mess. And yes, I grew up very insecure with my body, mainly my bigger chest, but this is something different, I don’t want to fall into the trap of envying other people. I want to continue thinking for myself and having inner peace. It really worries me that this is the base that children are being born into. This is how they are starting life, with social media already rampant. With comparison, negative toxic comments etc at the forefront. So yes, you are right. It’s messing with us big time, if even grown adults are being influenced in a negative way

Oh god, not to mention the overstimulation we have, that is causing us to be able to focus less. We have to be staring at our phones all day, looking for notifications. I am totally guilty of being distracted more easily. I used to have so many hobbies and now it’s hard for me to sit and do one thing at a time without the itch to check my phone 😬 Thankfully when I’m out of the house, I usually keep my phone away. I hate when you’re with people and they’re on their phone not paying attention to you

Girl this video was right on time I definitely been saying how I want to delete these apps off of my phone (giving myself a month hopefully I’ll go longer) social media is definitely overwhelming like you said some things we always saw on tv now it’s crazy how you find out about shootings & death on social media 🗣I DONT LIKE THAT‼️ I’m just tired of a lot of things a lot of mess fights etc girl it’s really ridiculous and I really pray things will get better we (Americans) will decide to do better for ourselves like people walk around all day everyday with a phone in they hand sit in the car with your phone in your hand go on dates sitting having lunch or dinner with someone & everyone is in a phone 😕it’s sad I said one day lords willing if I have a family of my own we WILL NOT have devices at the dinner table or have some time as a family with no distractions💯

yeah.. we limit our son's social media time and he is only 12 and we have caught him looking at inappropriate things. I had to delete youtube off all our tv's while he was visiting for the summer. He has been able to work an ipad since the age of 3!!!!!!

I love this video. You’ve live outside the US and now see the foolishness that is the states. I swear when I travel outside the country I am much better at peace and I hardly ever touch my phone. Every country besides the US are pro family and community and that is not a coincidence. People in the US fell for the “experiment” and you discussed the aftermath. The exact reason I want to live out the country.
