I used Laura Geller products a long time ago and was happy to hear they were back on the market. So I ordered the light and the fair foundation and both were too dark, just like in your review. I have been using the Pur 4 in 1 Foundation in light and I’m very happy with the shade. I did get the same Laura Geller blush and I’m also very pleased with it. Thanks for your review. ❤

Thank you for the helpful video. I really like LG Balance-n-Brighten foundation, but felt exactly the same, that the color pulled very warm on my light neutral skin. I purchased Fair last time & was considering this time buying Porcelain & Fair to get a better match. My other idea was to add one of her new primer spackle in champagne or rose gold & bronzer to see if that might be the perfect look. The online colors make it really tough to choose. Maybe an idea for future video or other brands? Thank you so much ! 😊

I have 52 yo combo/oily skin with fine lines and pores. Powder foundations and sheen tend to exaggerate any texture - my smile "crinkles" and pores. Thank you for the demo and review

I remember receiving a similar kit of Laura Geller products for Christmas in the late 90's. I loved the brush and used it for many years, no shedding with my brush. I did hear that the brand was forced to file for bankruptcy, so as I am thrilled to see her products still for sale, I would guess that they had to make cuts.... maybe in making their brushes? Of course you looked just stunning with these products on!! (As always, you know how to make products work for you!) I am about a pale as a person can be, basically translucent, and after trying powder foundations from Fenty, Bare Minerals and Elf, I have come to realize if I am able to find my almost white shade (like white stage makeup😥)...... I literally look like a ghost with it applied! I have to use a lot of bronzer, blush and setting spray to bring my face back to life. So maybe using self tanner and staying with your current shade may be the best look? But like you said, there are many other Laura Geller products that are so lovely!! I've been very curious to try the spackle product for the pores on my nose! And I am interested in the new liquid foundation!! PS My favorite powder foundation is the one from Elf, and I like to use it on my nose pores after foundation. It blurs them so well!

I had no idea about the bankruptcy… I’m glad to see she was able to restructure and keep going! And that makes me feel even better about the fact that she had such a strong advertising campaign going on right now. I have to say on the thumbnail your skin looks gorgeous! I’ve order the LG foundation powder in the past but the whole thing came shattered in a million pieces. I sent it back but never re-ordered… hmmm might need do that 😂 seriously though the LG products look phenomenal on you.❤

Thank you for a thorough and informative review! I've used the balance 'n brighten in "Light" *very* lightly dusted on as a finishing/setting powder, but not as a foundation. And you nailed it on the blush, her baked blushes are phenomenal! The powder foundation looked lovely on you, even if the shade was a bit off. I need to think about a review suggestion, but will come back with a couple or three. ;) Please convey my warmest snuggles to Handsome Norm for even trying on the dreaded shower-cap; I hope he was able to subdue it before it could attach itself to him. 😂

That’s exactly how I use this, too! I like to “set” my sunscreen so it’s not so shiny and to keep it from running into my eyes, and it works well for me. I don’t wear foundation too often, but when I do, the Laura Geller works great as you said, in a light layer to set.

This Laura Geller powder foundation looks flawless on you! But I can see it took awhile to get there and the shades def run warm or dark. I would say even on my very fair skin the porcelain shade wouldn’t work for me. The star of the show is definitely the blush! That is soooo pretty! I would buy that on its own. The highlighter was ok but I expected more for the price point. And they cheaped out on the brush. Hi lady! 🤗 🌺 Yes, the blush was definitely the big winner! 😍 I'm hoping to try more of her blush shades! I was definitely frustrated by how deep the "light" shade of the foundation was though, and someone commented below, that the porcelain shade turns pinky... so I think I'm going to throw in the towel for now on trying any more of the LG Baked powder foundations... but maybe give the liquid one a shot? I’ve seen everyone love this, but I think the beautiful finish is definitely the highlighter. I’ll stick to the powders/ foundations I already own. 🤔 I do wanna try the Flower Light Illusion powder. I bet it’s too dark though.

Jenny, I know this is a question you asked a few months ago, but if it still goes: I would be very interested in the newest Laura Mercier foundation. This set looks nice, especially the gorgeous blush. But no powder foundation for me! Everybody says it's so easy to apply, and I am just so bad at it. It takes me way longer than a liquid foundation to get it right. Thanks for the review!

Norm and his shower cap! 😂😂😂😂 Laura Geller is an excellent saleswoman. However, I've had to return more products of hers than any other brand. When the Balance and Brighten first came out, it was only one shade, but LG on QVC insisted it would adjust to any skin tone. I ran out and bought it at Ulta, which carried it at the time. Way too orange, but I liked the finish. Back it went. When she added the other shades, I bought Porcelain, but it offered so little coverage, I only use it as a light finishing powder, but it does skew pink. Her other Double Take Baked powder foundation has better coverage and shade selections, but it's drying. I can't use it anymore, unfortunately. The DTB foundations are not orangey like the BandB ones and the Fair shade was a good match for me. I wonder what the liquid version will be. I bought a couple of other LG liquid foundations and they looked awful on me. Back they went, so I gave up on her makeup altogether. The blushes look gorgeous. I should have spent my money on those instead.

@@foundationlady Oh, you're welcome, Jenny! I was kind of worried I might be perceived as LG-bashing, but I had to be honest after trying her products. I do think her blushes would be great. I don't think anyone could go wrong with those. Speaking of blushes, I just ordered several Salt NY ones, plus a couple of Sneaky Balm shades. If you buy 3 tints, you get 3 free! At first, I was going to get another palette, but this came out a few dollars cheaper with more products! I do intend to eventually get another palette or get an empty one from Camera Ready Cosmetics.

This Laura Geller is one of those foundations that worked well on me for a while then didn't, just like the bare minerals. I'm one of those who will know something doesn't work, get rid of it, give it another chance , get rid of it again, and possibly again 🤦‍♀️don't make me get the Laura Geller again! Although maybe this time I'll just ask the girlfriend I gave it to to let me try it again , get it out of my system 😂. I do still have the blush though mine is more of a berry.

Porcelain is pink and bright and fair is orange and too deep. Light has a good tone, but it’s still too dark. It has a beautiful finish, so I’m really sad that I can’t get it to work for me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had the same problem with it. Her Double Take Baked powder foundation has better choices for those of us who couldn't get a match with the Balance and Brighten. The Fair is light enough and neutral enough for me. Unfortunately, it's drying and I can't use it anymore.

btw. Ulta is having a 50% sale. Some of it is foundation stuff. Anything that pops out at you to give it a try? It's got Tarte Face Tape Full coverage. Estee Lauder Double wear stay in place foundation, IT cosmetic cc + cream illumination plus spf 50+, Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation, PUR 4-in 1 pressed mineral powder foundation SPF 15, Dermablend Flawless creator liquid foundation drops .. huh? what am I supposed to do with that? last one I'm not sure if it's a foundation but it's something from ARMANI so I'm hoping for the foundation. Should I try the Iconic London sculpting palette? I buried this under a reply cuz i'm not shilling for the store lol

Haha! I like your style! 😂 I saw the 21 days of beauty, and I was thisclose to jumping on the Shape Tape Foundation, but then for some reason I just didn't bite. (I think maybe I looked at the shades and just wasn't sure there was a good option?) I'd love to try the PUR mineral powder, as I've heard really great things about that, and all of the other ones, besides the Armani, I've either tried out or have on my desk getting ready to try... Although I'm considering trying the New (to ULTA) Dior foundation. I think it's been out for a little while at other retailers, but I was intrigued that it's supposed to be a more "natural" finish. Seriously, it's been such a busy week, and I've been glancing every once in a while at the ads, but haven't had the chance to really sit down and see what they were offering for the whole 21 days, so that was so helpful!! 🤗 I haven't tried any Iconic London yet... I tried the baked and balance foundarion powder and I do not like it at all. It settled into my pores terribly. I don't like the matte look that it gives as I prefer the glow. The blush is indeed beautiful. I actually own a few Laura Geller blushes and they are all very beautiful and have that subtle glow that I'm looking for.

@Foundation Lady , no problem!😊 I have tried a few other mineral foundations. My favorite mineral foundation used to be Bare Minerals. I wore it religiously for a decade but then noticed as I'm aging that the mineral powder foundations do not give me the coverage that I'm looking for. I have enlarged pores that most powder foundations just cannot cover. I feel like they just accentuate my pores instead of blurring them like more liquid foundations do. I have also tried so many pore blurring primers as well to no avail. They will fill in for a short time and then be visible again. I'm still looking for a holy grail pore filler😊 Love your foundation reviews. I'm new to your channel but love the honest reviews and the variety. Really gives us viewers a good idea of the performance of the products so we can make a more informed decision as to whether or not we want to take a chance on them and spend the money. Laura Geller lipsticks and her blushes are absolutely beautiful but for me, her foundations are a big fail, even her filter first liquid foundation. You have a great weekend too!!🌺🌼

All Laura Gellar products run warm and darker than advertised. Even if the products look dead pink, invariably they will pull orange. I have no complaints about the quality of her products, but if you have fair cool skin like me, literally none of her products will work for you -- and I've tried both her liquid and powder foundations, blushes, and eyeshadows. It's a real shame.

Yes! the same happened to me: quality wise: no complaints but color undertones do need improvement the shade light isn’t light its warm/peachy/orange

@@coopie624I really love this foundation, but to get the right winter shade I have to mix porcelain with fair or light (I forget which one use). The pink in the porcelain makes it a little lighter and cooler.The shade range is my only complaint about her products. Medium works well with a self tanner in summer. Her blush and highlighter can’t be beat though.
