Hello ASL Heroes!!! Hey, I could really use your help. If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you. A small donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com. You can help out a humble (not to mention kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, and hard-working) ASL teacher -- just go here right now and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!” www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=64QMBRBXQSV6G Thanks! - Dr. Bill p.s. Want to have your very own USB drive with four semesters worth of ASL instruction for just $79.95? See "SuperUSB" in the ASLUniversity bookstore at: lifeprint.com/bookstore/bookstore.htm Take care and love to you all. :)

Really like your “jokes” too , but I learned some from these videos thanks. Do you know sign for ‘virtual’ as in virtual reality. Or virtual experience?
@sign-language2 жыл бұрын
The concept of "virtual" is signed in a variety of ways in ASL depending on the specific meaning intended, context, foreknowledge, and previously established in-group conventions. In other words -- it depends. The concept of "virtual" is often just fingerspelled in ASL -- particularly by Deaf individuals who are skilled at ASL and fingerspelling and who are familiar with the meaning of the English word "virtual." "Virtual" is sometimes expressed by using the sign for two-way-VIDEO, teleconference, two-way-video-communication, video-relay. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXnTgX6AbKyLpbc "Virtual" is sometimes expressed by using the sign ONLINE, internet, network. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5DJc2B6bcStkKs (Note that some people sign "online" as a combination of the signs ON + LINE. While that approach may be open to criticism -- it is undeniable that a significant number of people do it.) Virtual Reality (after context has been established) is typically signed by spelling "VR". A virtual reality headset can be depicted by using handshapes that resemble the general size and shape of a VR headset. For example, see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3e0aZeti8d1Y5o As time passes, such depictions will evolve into increasingly simple (or less complex) handshapes. For example it is likely that the sign for VR headset will simply use two baby-C handshapes to frame the eyes. (A baby-C handshape uses the thumb and index finger in a C shape). If by "virtual" you mean fake or pretend then you might want to use one of the signs for "pretend." For example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5yZpIyBhbKop7M Note that there are several different common signs used to mean "pretend." If by "virtual" you mean "almost" then use the ALMOST sign. See" kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooSvgaSrlNugY80 If by "virtual" you mean "made up, invented, pretend, creatively generated" then use CREATIVE sign. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opnIhXyBdpuKjtU

someone informed me the sign you showed for Instagram (the shaking back and forth of the large G handshape) was for Snapchat.
@sign-language6 жыл бұрын
Lately I just spell IG to mean Instagram. But the shaking back and forth of the large G handshape version is still used by many. See: media.spreadthesign.com/video/mp4/13/457874.mp4 That is Spreadthesign.com's version of IG. Check out Nyle's version of snapchat: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHmlZaF8mLGCgrs If I were you I'd go with Nyle's version of Snapchat instead of your friend's version unless your friend is multigenerational native Deaf.
