I have been waiting on a crankshaft for a io550 for my debonair. It was ordered 04-2021 it has not been delivered yet with no delivery date? I may have to go back to a520.

I fly the IO550 in my A36, great engine. Wish the automation could get the cost of a new engine down, but probably not gonna happen.

The price hike happened in Feb. of 2022. The TSIO-550 now costs over $120k.

Never be the first when it comes to innovative things in aviation. Wait until it is tested in the field. The wave of cylinder AD’s that we’ve had in the past is a good example....& remember the water cooled 520....remember the synthetic oil that was a disaster...on & on.
