@@modestforward he is not great. He does not understand the basics of doggy learning behavior, has a measly lack of methods. the only thing he uses in abundance is positive punishment through animal cruel means. Even the treat doesn't change anything that he stuffs in pointlessly every now and then. The dogs are all psychologically destroyed and in avoidance behavior. He belongs to the kind of trainer who create disturbed dogs with their bullshit, and with their lousy role model for the clients who also have no knowledge, ensure that the dogs become unpredictable time bombs and ultimately end up in euthanasia.

prong collar in this case is used more as in interruptor.

he is using a prong collar- what you mentioned are tools. even a flat collar can be abusive if you use it wrong lol. It can be maddening to deal with an extremely reactive dog- speaking from experience. you need the right tools to deal with a situation- you wouldn't eat broth with a fork now would you?

I have a question... I have a pointer lab mix and he use to be socialized until a couple dogs tried to attack him... He cant even look at a dog without trying to attack them and sometimes when i am holding him back he lashes around to bite me. I just want to know how can i train him to walk around people and their dogs without him hurting himself and other animals and people, what kind of muzzle should i use, my dog has broken and slipped out of a few of them

what really helped me train my reactive dog, was i slowly let my family members walk out of nowhere and try to pet her, it worked well. she thought they were just strangers

My 4 year old Shiba Inu is calm and non reactive with other dogs when we are on leash or the dogs are behind a fence. He is interactive and calm with dogs he knew when he was interaction in that the interaction is just a hello and he walks off -- there is no chasing or other interaction. Now that he is 4 years old, his style of interaction with unfamiliar dogs is that he tries to dominate and this leads to a fight. Is it ok that he only interacts with dogs he already is familiar with or what do you suggest that i do to get him to interact with unfamiliar dogs that we may meet on the walk or to get him to go into a dog park?
@saarlooswolfhund6237
@saarlooswolfhund6237 2 жыл бұрын
Why do you expect from your Shiba to play and interact with strange dogs? Why do you bring it to Dogparks, the creation programs of social disorders? Have you ever had a look into the behavior of this breed and what their genetic disposition is? Stop going to the Dogpark, Keep strangers dogs off the neck of your dog and don't ask incompetent dog trainers like this channel operator for advice.

Lack of safety back up is definitely dangerous but the prong looks fitted fine. Some dogs use bigger prongs if the smaller ones deliver too intense of a correction

You shouldn’t tug on the leash so much especially with a prong collar. The dog is fine on walks beside the aggression of course. He probably attacks more because of the prong collar, he feels pain when people come by because the people and trainer tug so much.

Prong collar, horrible. There are trainers on you tube who know how to help reactive dogs without inflicting pain on them.
@GoodDogTrainingNZ
@GoodDogTrainingNZ 2 жыл бұрын
When used correctly the prong collar is actually less pain inflicting than a dog pulling and choking its self on a flat collar. They are an amazing communication tool in fact! However if used incorrectly you are right it can cause pain. For that reason we have since stopped using prong collars because while we are safe to use them as trained trainers we decided it was our responsibility not to pass these onto pet owners who do not fully understand the tool.

Put the prong collar to trash and learn basics about dogs. You are not able to get orientation. Everything you are telling is punishment based incompetence. People like you create with their incompetence reactive wrecks. That tells a lot about you. 😉
