This absolutely awesome, I love this. What I need is a Bluetooth speaker for my guitar amp. Keep in mind that so far no guitar amps come with the Bluetooth technology embedded so there would have to be a transceiver connected to the headphone out or direct out. Still researching......

you should have put port holes or vents on it (front for more directional sound and back for the sound to spread more) It allows the speakers to kind of like 'breathe' more and allows the cone to move easier so you get more bass and with less resistance so its louder. if you drilled a 1.5" hole near the bottom center or two 1" holes in the corners where there is nothing in the way of course. Nice work though!
@kalleklp72918 жыл бұрын
Great project..! If it was me, I would take some white paint (or whatever colour you like), thin it up so it's really thin (like for spray painting) and coat the whole thing with it. You will end up with a wood structure in it, but the ugly holes from the nails would be better camouflaged. How long does the battery last, when you play at normal level ?
@chriskeeler19498 жыл бұрын
Nice job. a few changes i would make is to buy 4x4" full range driver (since you did not use the JL crossover anyway) and build the box to the speaker specs. can get 4 drivers for much cheaper than the JL's used and have better sound. None the less great job.

Nice build. I have a couple of questions about the build. 1) I didn't see where you access the Play, Next, Previous buttons from your box. I see how you used inverted machine screws but do they protrude through the box?; and 2) Can this amp be used to power a single 6X9 triax if you bridge it mono? Again, really nice build and thanks for sharing it.

This is such a cool build. Have you thought about a similar version but wifi? I'm currently playing around with the bose SoundTouch system I love their interface but am limited by their speakers. Their amp is 500 alone but if I could build something like this...

Great job on the BT Speaker. I didn't see a Bass port. Any reason you didn't add one?
@sidmalicious8 жыл бұрын
While it would be optimal for frequency reproduction, a port is not needed. I'm sure it's louder than he needs and you won't notice the nuances a port would provide. Doesn't seem like he intended this to be a purist audiophile build, and the JL Audio speakers I have sound fine even in infinite baffle.

Hey i have some questions about the build. How did you get the tweeters to only play high sounds and the woofers lows? and how did you charge the battery safely? and will the dimensions of the box effect greatly the sound of the speakers depending on their size? Really neat build by the way im hoping to do something similar.

Thanks for a great video! I'm just thinking and looking at parts and wondering if I could just convert some old speakers to Bluetooth or maybe a wired connection to a phone (3.5mm) bypassing the hole stereo head unit? I don't know though. Can your phone connect to two speakers and split the signal for stereo sound or are you stuck with two speakers playing the exact same sounds? Does the board you used have the connections for a wired connection to the music source? And did it also have the connections for the USB port or is that a separate part connected to the batteries?
@sag29747 жыл бұрын
Just one question, did you consider using any kind of tubing for rear facing bass ports? And if not, why. Neat diy speaker tho. 👌
@ChristianFlanagan8 жыл бұрын
I wonder if putting a sound hole or slot in the front would help deliver deeper bass sound, not that I could really tell from the video but it seemed to be lacking.
@eyersteref8 жыл бұрын
I don't know much about speaker design, so I have to ask one question: You have both left and right stereo channel speakers inside the same one compartment. Wouldn't that create some kind of interference? Wouldn't it be better to divide the box into two separate compartments with a dividing wall between them? So the woofers wouldn't share the same air, if you know how i mean? Would that improve sound quality or not? Please explain.

Gotcha. I wonder how much of a difference they would make. I am thinking about buying a set of components and building a monitor stand for my computer with a car stereo built in it so its a whole contained audio system for a desktop. Most car radios these days have a subwoofer output, so I can use one of the powered subs I have here. It would be a kick ass, semi portable audio setup.

I know this is late, but I have a question on the batteries, going into this project didn’t realize a few things could be so difficult, I’m building this along with ur vid, and purchased the same pwr bank which will not turn on the amp, it’s fully charged and reading a little above 12v but when I try my 18v dRill batt it works, my ? Did u manipulate the bms? I know the amp can take 12-24v but this stock pack seems not enough juice.

What you might need will depend on what speakers you use. Thaks for watching and for your comment!

that is an awesome build, but like others have pointed out there are a lot of diy vids on youtube like this one, where one presumes people have all kind of hardware equipment which some of us might not be able to afford (or simply have space for it). I myself live in an apartment, and being a student my ability to buy quality electric tools is not the best :D It would be great to also see some low-tech builds that perform well for the price, but can be crafted in a more, well, crude way if you know what I mean. Soldering iron is obviously a must for electrical builds, but working with random cases you don't need to work as much with like this big wooden boombox case, that would be cool! like fx PVC tube stereo speakers or something :) One can always add finishing materials like paint, cloth, thin metal, etc. But all this said, its a great vid and good craftsmanship!
