It's a piece that doesn't give in to commercial cinema places, and it's raw and visceral WITHOUT going to a morbid place. It's absolutely perfect. Love from Argentina

I was lucky enough to see it in cinema and it was an amazing experience - I’ve never seen a room like it after the film was over

Only shots where made in the real location, the movie with all the actors was shot in "la sierra Nevada" in Spain. Is a movie about love, friendship and how we humans are capable of impossible tasks if we work together and we support eachother even in the most horrendous of situations

The movie is a masterpiece, it totally grabbed the essence of the survivors. As a follower of this topic and watched all previous movies, read books about it and watched numerous documentaries, I can say this movie from J.A.Bayona is very accurate. The movie “Alive” was pretty much Hollywood stylish that described some facts, but not what really happened or what the passengers really went through, not even how they felt. The movie shows the incredible Andes and how tiny human beings are in front of of it. Totally worth to watch.

One of my favourite parts of this movie is the bikes publicity that comes right after the end of announcement of the search was over. It is not something disrecpectfull, it is just a reminder that life continues for the rest of the world that think they all are dead.

I never knew when it was in theaters. It would have been even more impactful. I had to see it twice on Netflix to get some things I missed the first time. But I wonder which part he meant near the end that was so spectacular.

likely when they reach the top of the mountain looking out expecting to see green pastures of Chile and see only mountains in every direction

Agreed! A real depiction of the human spirit and the power of nature. I love how the movie manages to tell the story in a respectful and meaningful way and not sensationalize it. Also, five stars for the way it's filmed, the sounds, etc. Makes you understand the conditions that much more.

I loved your review. This movie is a masterpiece, I knew a little bit about the story before watching it and let me tell you my mouth was open almost the entire time. The movie does a really good job at showing you and making you feel almost exactly what those people went through 👌🏻 a must- see

Great that you young people get to know this incredible story. I am similar age to the survivors. I read the front page of newspapers in 1972. The first movie was Spanish too in 1976, call SURVIVE. ( I saw this at the cinema in 1976)The next movie is American ALIVE in 1993. The plane in fact had a stop over in Mendoza. You should read the book by nando parrado- Miracle in the Andes and the 1970s book by piers Paul Read - ALIVE. I did the cover of - Break it all. the song in the movie- airport scene. (youtube) 💖💖Also, netflix now have the making of the movie- society of the snow. The fuselage was actually shot in spain, sierra nevada mountains, but the 360 panorama around the fuselage was shot in crash location.

As crazy as the story is in the film it actually underplays the last part of the story almost rushing through the heroic superhuman final trek. I think the film/documentary "Alive" was better at showing this element of the story
