Happy New Year! A little note from a long-time listener of the pod; I am autistic and quite sensitive to sound. Normally, your podcast is really good quality and lovely to listen to, but this one was a struggle for me (even though the conversation was interesting as always). The sound whenever James tapped or moved his microphone was almost painful in my ears (yeah, I know, but autistic hypersensitivies are like that sometimes). I think it is because of the new setup? Perhaps you could be a bit more careful with the microphone? I would appreciate it immensely, because I love listening to the podcast.

"The dialogue is strange" is a kind way to say it's crap. The narrative swings like a broken arm. Complete waste of time and money. Of course, the film snobs will declare it to be "artistic." If you are a normal movie fan, avoid at all costs.

Same thing when a road coverges to one lane so everyone starts merging before they need too out of respect and order, but then some ***** cuts everyone and squeezes in causing everyone in line behind them progressing at a reasonable speed to pump their breaks. Idiot saved himself 2 minutes and added 30 seconds to every single person in line already. Hate that trash.

I work at an airport. Please don't do this, it inconveniences a lot of your fellow travellers and we are in no way obliged to rush you through security and to your aircraft if you show up late. Additionally, you never know when there could be a problem with your boarding cards requiring them to be reissued, which will take time and may not even be possible beyond a certain point.

In Europe it's very different, most fly by cheap airlines and if you miss it, no refund or rebooking, you buy a new ticket which will cost 10 times more.

Whenever you find a hack like this, and you're wondering if you're the asshole, you have to ask yourself, "what if everyone did that?" Every single flight would lift off late and everything would be chaos. I love Kieran Culkin but this is some priveledged and rude shit here

Yeah I thought the exact same thing. No wonder he got casted for his role in succession haha. He’s the type of person to be holding up lines through his entitlement. Those who got there early, deserve to go first. Not to let some ahole bypass them the way he seems to. Plus they don’t always let you on another flight or it’ll be the entire next day. How about those possibilities?

I did this after learning that the crew actually starts announcing your name and then they come to the passengers to check for you. So you can escape the line at the security and ticket checks with their help. 😅

I know people like this and they're not rich at all. They just don't care. Getting places on time, making sure bills are paid, car stuff, their jobs, etc. nothing fazes them. It's really not a good way to go through life though when you don't have money.

Definitely agree with the disappointments of Paddington in Peru, Joker 2 & Gladiator 2. The disappointment is worse than a bad standalone film because they failed to live up to their predecessors which I very much loved/ enjoyed. Also, agree with Andrew Scott as actor of the year - both Ripley & All of Us Strangers blew me away. I'd only watched these two films because of the pod, so thank you again for the wonderful year of reviews, recommendations, and also this 2024 wrap up!

I thought Megalopolis had lots of very cool moments, I would rather a failure of a big swing than a film that doesn't even try anything. Red One and Madame Web were far worse IMO.

My favorite in recent years is still Anatomy of A Fall. This year i haven’t watched a movie that shook me the way it did like Anatomy of A Fall. However if we count Society of the Snow as this year’s movie, that would be my favorite. Anora was entertaining but I felt like something was mossing

robbie is truly a king! i've already seen the movie and it's beyond incredible! it's different from any biopic - yes you have drugs, alcohol and woman BUT the way the are showing it here is amazing and heartbreaking. robbie doesn't shy away from the truth. he lay it out and doesn't sugarcoat it. i loved the movie! and even me as a fan, learned some new things about him. it's truly a movie that anyone can watch. you don't really needs to know about robbie - you can go blind and still enjoy it. the movie touches subjects and approaches that other biopics never thought about. robbie is a real man who really likes the truth, even if he comes out a a a-hole. the movie is raw, honest, funny, heartbreaking and heartwarming. i think any one of us can take something from this film. so many lessons to learn. it's safe to say that i absolutely enjoyed every second of it and can't wait to watch it again! ps: can't wait see robbie on tour next year! already got my ticket!
