Was watching this lecture but had to stop in the mid. Literally love the way you teach. Rather than just giving definitions the way you are elaborating the practical aspects of them is commendable. I love to see such educated teachers talking on topics like rapes and the mentality behind it. You are teaching the youth in real sense.

Everyone is deviant ,one way or another. For example, society accepts gaining knowledge in learning centres i.e schools/colleges , But I'm here learning on a digital platform,so i am a deviant too unless the society acts to inculcate the new equilibrium where a new mechanism will be derived which is gonna approve digital learning as equivalent to traditional learning ( Parsons new equilibrium theory).

I agree, for example.... A a bride from urban society where she is educated to raise her voice against inequality,,, come to a traditional rural community. Here she is expected to follow all rules and. ,norms quietly being a obedient bahu Bahu. Still she is labbeld..... Ek Bigdi Hui shayari ladki...... and finally started davians from the society

Hi sir,I found a little confusion....kindly correct me if I am wrong..... discrepancy between culturally defined goals and structural means to achieve goals is "Anomy" . Where merton sees it interms of means and goals.....and deviance is the result of Anomy 🤔
