Fun fact! The 1/20 chance actually increases to 100% if a blood moon preceded it. This also works conversely, which is great because who wouldn’t want to experience four consecutive days of event!

I never actually considered this weapon because I usually just go for the starlight, which can’t achieve the same astronomical heights of dps but has more range and even more aesthetic appeal. If I’m honest, this weapon might actually have a use during the final stages of the game if you use it to damage the pillars while the shields are down or to attack moon lord’s core. The moon lord’s core is kind of a risky target but I bet someone could probably make it work. Oh almost forgot, this thing would synergize fantastically with a hallowed armor invincibility setup because of the potentially long immunity frames, so I might give that a try in future runs.

I feel one of its best uses is troll builds for pvp. If you enter stealth mode and wait, you can basically instakill even the tankiest of builds due to the crazy high damage and speed.

Word of advice when farming psychos is that they tend to stand still and invisible near where they spawn, so you probably won't kill much of them if you afk in one spot. You will need to actively move around and look for psychos because they don't actively attack the player untill you get close.

back when duke fishron's phase transitions still allowed you to hit him, you could effectively onecycle him, it's still funny how easy it is to kill duke with this thing, just dash under him with a striking moment buff and you deal like 10% of his total hp in damage

never even close, it takes 17 frames to swing now instead of 16 before, while the psycho knife and fetid baghnakhs both have a base use time of 8 frames, however the psycho knife took 20 frames per swing before its buff in 1.4

I would love the devs double down on the stealth mode, making the weapon slower, but better at the sneak attack angle. I would even make it be animated as a short sword, but makin it a melee counterpart of the sniper rifle: slow, but deadly. With a focus on crit.
