Well its not that bad. It actually has a good dps and its imo better then most of other staffs, even blade staff and sanguine, at the point of progression. Not that fantastic against some mobile bosses yeah, but excellent in mob farming and some more stationary bosses like planterra and golem. I used it most of my playthrough until i get Xeno.

@@cluelessmango768 empress is not at all one of the most mobile bosses, she stays put for a lot of her attacks and even with her moving slowly for sundance they would just barely keep up; all the other bosses are way more mobile than her with the exception of maybe plantera the weapon really needs a whole rework: either make the sharks hit multiple enemies to be good against invasions and farming or give them slight homing so that they are actually useful for bosses

I'd recommend getting the gelatinous pillion first if you want to defeat fishron pre mech. Even after the nerf it got in 1.4.4, it helps a lot with vertical mobility, which makes the first two phases much easier and turns the third phase into a joke.

I remember using this in 1.2 and it was so amazing. Back when your only melee options were the underwhelming Terrablade or the insanely annoying to get Horseman’s Blade, branching into the mage weapons was really the only way to get good damage output, with this thing being by far the most fun

Duke fishrons pattern is entirely set in stone and 100% consistent. The only things you need are an option for high horizontal speed, like the unicorn or similar, a high vertical speed to switch to a platform higher than the tornadoes, and the shield of Cthulhu for a quick burst of speed to ternary avoid phase 3.

I feel like Truffle Worms have been made less rare over time. No proof of this, but I remember it used to take forever to find them. In 1.4 it feels like they’re a similar rarity to normal worms, which is super odd! (Gelatin Crystal has definitely replaced it as the “optional boss summon thatll take an obscenely long time to get” though)

I feel like calling duke weapons pre mech is a bit misleading. CAN you get it pre mech, yes. Will most people be able to get it pre mech, probably not. It’s effectively a built in sequence break for those who can pull off fighting a boss designed for much later in the game.

heres some tip: in the first phase when duke fishron is about to release his tornadoes, lure him to one edge of the arena and for the second phase make sure the tornado follows you to an edge of the arena. After the tornados are deployed just dont go to that edge of the arena. use a unicorn/goat right after a dash to run away from him and have 1 platform above the water + 1 platform at the extent of your wings

It's insane how this weapon can be used for the entirety of hardmode. If you get it early as possible the rest of the game is such a breeze. The other weapons are strong too, but you need brain power to kinda use them, meanwhile razorblade is just hold down left click.

Summoner requires you to be up close with subpar dps and the lowest defence out of all of the classes. I remember getting it the first time when I played Terraria for real (going mage first because I like mage in general). Got a lot of oddball stuff, until I went to razorblade when the guide proposed it (pre-golem, wich is normally when I manage to do the fight). I went all the way until moonlord with it. normal mode you really don't need anything else. Today, after the nerfs, I learn the pros and cons of other weapons, but getting razorblade is a key part of the progression for me.

If you fight duke fishron after golem, it isn't really that big of an upgrade on higher difficulty. I find myself using laser machine gun or razerpine more effective; it doesn't feel as satisfying after the nerf and i was dissapointed when i got it and felt like it was really slow :(

Crystal assassin armor provides mobility without sacrificing an accessory slot for shield of cthulu and its class agnostic you can make it work on any build. Adamantite and titanium to me only seem helpful for destroyer to survive a surprise laser or 2 thats honestly it. Dont waste adamantite or titanium on armor its not worth the hassle save your rescources for pre plantera prep.

Lucky me since in one of my terraria worlds there's a very specific special place that always respawns a truffle worm and i have absolute loads of them sadly I'm trash at beating Duke fishron and took me till i got the Zenith beaten empress daytime set up loads of turrets from the moon lord and potions till i finally beaten duke fishron beating it on mobile is hard for me

I would seriously recommend you try out a pinch of evasion accessories, since duke fishron does some massive dmg, so you should try getting hollowed armor and a BOC, so you can make duke much easier
