FMA is no easy story to cover, certain things/chars being left out, but overall you did a wonderful job of capturing Arakawa's masterpiece. From the OG version I grew up w/ on Adult Swim (much darker, more character development) to reading the lighthearted, often funny, but at the same time a wave of emotions/plot in comparison. I'm glad it has remained a fan favorite for so long because it f'ing deserves it. Very rewatchable dub or sub (prefer the Dub on this one, RIP Vic) but in the end I would have liked one thing in Brotherhood - Ed's final words as he boards the train "There's no such thing as a painless lesson, they just don't exist. Sacrifices are necessary, you can't gain anything w/o losing something first. Although, if you can endure that pain and walk away from it - You'll find that you have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle; Yeah, a Heart made Full Metal!! 😢

i miss the time of mind bending stories like this eva are my two favourite anime for their incredable stories filled the layers and the internal struggles the charaters must face
@Sylenced113 күн бұрын
@7angels844 Agreed. They don't make em' like they use to, mostly thanks to oversaturation of Isekai or simple Rom Coms, but rare Gems do pop up here and there. This season all I really care about is Re:Zero S3 sadly, maybe Dandadan one. Least it lets me touch grass! 😂

@@Sylenced1 Sure they do. Unlike in the past - we have less control by gate keepers, and this is a double edged sword. On one hand - The big publishers have to be more risk adverse as the low production value content they would once fill in their time with no longer is profitable to them, do to the fact that the likes of KZbin exists. Music Publishers make piles of money charging for recording - where back in the day, they would do the work to find the top content producers and facilitate them, and now - with affordable development tools at home (we are talking 2-4k to set up a decent enough recording set up at home): Big recording studio's have competition - they can't rely on people wanting to pay for studio time, when a few sessions cost is what it would take to set up at home. For Manga - the digital publishing tools are so much better. Same goes for all written work. For video games - Indie is more and more where it's at with the way big publishers seek profit returns over producing good content understanding that they will make money. And this brings us to a reality: Just about every publicly traded company has been captured by the economist model of profit maximization instead of producing good content, that results in big profits. And all we have to do is look at EA, Boeing, and Intel as three prime examples. Sure, they all make money - but they are making money basically off of existing momentum, not off of a quality engaging product driving sales and interest: And that, is a very risky place to be. To break down the numbers - something like 10% of creators are responsible for 90% of the top content. But we can break this down further as those top creators are self filtering out their worst ideas/bad content that they want to review, scrap, or just leave to stew for awhile. When we look at the vast majority of content - it's bad, repetitive, low value. In a world where niche creators can find a global audience - that, is going to be a problem. If you are a writer - patreon and more can let you find that audience, and let them support you. After all: 2-3$ a month, from 2000+ people is a living. If you have idea's for a work - you can pay for art to be created for affordable rates reaching out through online platforms, or even from that community. Self publishing in this way is accessible. The thing is - it's more work, and effort, and maybe you just don't want to bother with the hasstle yet. We don't have a situation where "they don't make it like they used to". We have a situation of "They don't publish like they used to" - It is more effort to find solid, reliable content. The flip side is: It's easier to find niche content.

This summary was really well done and I enjoyed every second of it. However, for the few people that are using this video to decide if they should watch the anime, I would advise them not to make a decision based on the first few minutes of this video. While it is logical to begin where Sock started, you don't actually find out about that jerk in the bottle until later on. There is a significant amount of character building and tone setting that takes place before the Hohenheim reveal. FMA does a really good job of hiding the fact that Father and Hohenheim are 2 different people. That flashback brings everything together and doesn’t have the same effect when told out of sequence.

I have no idea how you have managed to do it, but your videos have such a unique and intesnse feeling associated to them. Somewhere, your tone of voice, the cadenece at which you choose to speak, and the music that is used, all commicates the severity of these stories. You make good shit and I appreciate all the work you put into these documentaries.

You're one of the few real KZbinrs i even see on here. I feel like KZbin is nothing but trends and A.I. Almost all major channels all talk about the same things at the same time. It's so boring. You bring really well done breakdowns of Anime and you really talk. I like all the lil imperfections of the human voice.

You know what I hate about FMA. Because the 2 anime are so similar, yet so different it's made it so I can't remember what parts go with which story. There are characters and story beats that I thought were part of the cannon story but maybe they were really just from the first anime. It's even worse because I saw them at the same time. I watched the original anime, then immediately started episode 1 of Brotherhood and watched that so it's all just a jumble in my mind.
@noirspiderman449 күн бұрын
It's kind of what I like about it too. Combined points makes it more enjoyable to me. Create your own canon between the two or enjoy them separately. All enjoyable and great

I’m very upset i can’t seem to find that original series on Netflix, hulu, or crunchyroll. I love brotherhood but i feel like they’re two halves to a whole, for the original the beginning is more fleshed out, while brotherhood the ending is more fleshed out. And the completely different endings gave it like an infinite universe feel

It has a slow start. The original was coming out during the manga so the stories deviated and Brotherhood course corrected, but at the cost of a beginning that's a bit thrown off. Highly recommend skipping the first like twenty episodes. It's only 60
