I assume the genre is about bartending? Or something along that line. Answer to why its not talked about is Prob cuz theres like 2-3 famous ones that are “good” and 2 of them arent even known for its bartending (im looking at you death parade)

i’m not even a typical anime fan and i just happened to watch this show when i was going through a rough patch in my life. i was struggling to understand myself and my contradictions and also someone in my life who had recently hurt me. there’s very few media that have had such an impact on my outlook in life. i thought i was compassionate, i thought i was emotionally intelligent. this show broke down a part of me so i could build it back up and understand what makes me this way, why i’ve had these experiences at such a young age. why it seems so much harder for me to be understood when that’s the thing i desire most. it’s a valid thing to want but there’s also inherently ego that comes with it. and when i go through things my first instinct is to cry but then interrogate my situation and my emotional reactions, which is hard as someone with adhd bc i can’t always identify them. people say this show is like an existential crisis in a bottle, but it just left me more comfortable in the chaos and confusion and heartbreak

Why tf SEELE just let Angels come into contact with Lilith and k*lls everyone when they just do the same anyway at the end of the series?

One of the most memorable & still my favorite anime of all time. The scene where he swings & hits the baseball out of the city with the pillows playing in the background will make me tear up, idk why, it’s just that special to me….

Idk, the ideas in this show are fun but most of the characters just don't talk like people at all. Re-L might as well be made of cardboard. Vincent and the robot girl are the only likeable characters in the show for the most part.

He's how you make sense of it: Step 1. Don't start watching it Step 2. Watch something else It's that simple. It's the dullest, least engaging anime to ever exist. Don't waste your time with it.

Maybe in the future we'll view the rebuilds in more positive, but right now, they are a mess. They took 9 years to make the final movie cause they couldn't find a good enough ending. Also isnt Mari just representation of Anno's wife?

Personally, I think that the best advice to give someone who is interested in watching Evangelion is to focus on the characters and themes and tune out everything else. If you look at the show as 24 episodes of context/setup, and 2 episodes of payoff, it makes more sense. The entire point of the show is summed up in those last 2 episodes and there is no mention of Seele, Dead Sea Scrolls, Lilith, or anything. That's done on purpose because they don't actually matter to the point of the show. They were just there to create the circumstances needed to develop the characters and provide the context necessary for the discussion in episodes 25 and 26.

Suzaku is kinda a hypocrite. He has flaws, doesn’t take responsibility. But he does take redemption. He sacrifice his identity to create real change for peace.

Just a warning if you're interested in this fantastic show, in some episodes, the flashing and / or light strobes can get ridiculous. I dont suffer seizures, and I still felt the need to look away in many spots. Reddit has some bookmark guides where it gets intense. Now go watch the show!!!!

Every time a human calls another human "a monster", it is a defensive act. It is trying to create distance in order to deny ability. Truth is, every time a human does something Monstrous, something utterly Inhuman, the bar is lowered for ALL humans. "A Human CAN do it, therefore I COULD do it." A human cannot fly by flapping their arms, a human can, and has, funneled Drain Cleaner into skulls to try and create sex zombies. This is not a judgement on what can be done, but a fact that it CAN be done.
