SoD Paladin tanking, Weapon, Runes, and Block Value Build QA

Low SP = Inventors or Sanguine Blade (So SoM or Block Value Paladins)
High SP = ALWAYS 1.3s or the equivalant.
Block Value Paladin = 31/10/0 at level 50
31/13/7 at level 60... if Crit is Low (sub 30%)
11/31/9 at level 60... if Crit is High (above 35%)
Speed Runs = Likely ALWAYS a Holy Shock Build of some kind. But likely depends on how long boss fights are, TPS and Damage Mitigation Requirements for SoD.

I’m catching up with your videos now that the r7 armor is out. I’m scared to make the leap to sor when I test it with sheath of light it’s hitting for half dmg before the armor. Is the armor going to make it do more dmg? My concern is that som is causing more party haste

You talking the Str/stam/Spell power armor? SoR should be thunking around at 80 damage or more every attack at 1.3s speeds. Its not so much that she does more damage then SoM... its that they are similar in damage... Then you have SoR every 8s which hits as hard as hard or harder then an exorcism... Then You have Horn of Lord which is giving +4% Cirt which SoM paladin can't fit in very easily. You are causing less parry haste and POSSIBLY x2 procing Druid Windfury. Its just better. No way around it. SoM also Crit Caps at 20% Crit... and with world buffs I hear that you are getting 30% or higher crit right now with song flower and friends soo...

Wait whats the reason for not using a slow 1 hander Hammer of Righteous? this is how you play prot paly in wotlk where the spell was introduced since it scales with weapon damage. I'm thinking of a Reckoning spec to further justify the slow 1h playstyle. just sucks that Holy Shield is such a big trade-off from Consecration

If you READ the spell she is trying to say that she is going to take your Damage Per Second... multiple it by 4... and do that number as holy damage to the target. (She's funny what I saying here). So... if you have a FAST 1 hander and you do 100 DPS with that FAST 1 hander... this spell will hit for 400 holy damage. If you have a SLOW 1 hander 2.8s speeds... and you do a total of 100 DPS with that 1 hander... the spell will also hit for 400 Holy damage. It doesn't care what your weapon speed is just our DPS because its going to hit with that DPS as if it was a 4.0 weapon speed.

I believe rank caps out at 4 a week if i remember right. so thats two weeks of honor from rank 0. 33750 the first week, 110,000 the second week.

I think the answer = No... but even if it doesn't its about scaling. Attack Power Scales with SoM, White Damage, Crusader Strike, Seal of Command Spell Power Scales with SoR, JoR, Consecration, Holy Shock, Exorcism, Seal of Command, Weapon Oils. SoR Both Hits Harder in Spell Power Gear then SoM and JoR is also FAR better then JoM with a fast 1 hander

Parcing tanks use JoM because it does more total DPS but it generates less THREAT... so I hear anyways.

This doesnt seem right ive been tanking 11/0/30 with SOM and it just straight pumps. I dont think ive seen anyone doing sor since som is just so good with resets

I agree. I feel like this is valuing TPS way too much when I have zero issues holding aggro with rogues, warriors, and boomkins parsing 99s in my raid. Right now DPS is a much higher priority because even without any points into imp righteous fury no one is pulling threat off of me.

agree i tryed to play full spell dmg with sor and yeah aggro isnt an issue but i do half dmg of som wich will make aggro not an issue anyway.the only argument that can be made is that this phase your dps potential is bound to the one of the other tank so unless u play with somone pumping as much as you is a big issue.this reset i played sor and i had to remove righteous fury and not press a single button cause other tank was doing 0 dmg so if this is the case a full prot build is not doing any harm since u cnat do dmg anyway

Nope. The issue with it is that you are spending a GCD for 100-200 damage which could have been a Holy Shock, Exorcism, JoR, Consecration or Holy Shield... all of which do more then 300 holy damage. You get GCD locked at about 20% Crit Chance with SoM and Holy Shock and 35% with SoR and no Holy Shock

Rank 7 is nto that easy to obtain, blood moon is out of the question u need to do 440 coins to get from rank 6 to 7, considering you do an average of 10 each event this means u need to do 6 stv a day for the entire week and do a 7th one day , bgs if you are alliance are off limit too and since is paladin we are talking about to do rank 7 will be more than a hustle. This said unless you want to go for full prot holy shield build and have maximum mitigation, atm without rank 7 gear is way better to go som and 11-0-30, dunno about the tps, but as far as dps go you do so much nobody will ever pull aggro from you and the only issue is only how much treath your co tank can do.

Is not terrible nor incorrect. Is just useless info. If you want to go for full block value is pure for a defensive reason and despite having almoast 0 value even defensive wise id say just go full holy shield. Otherwise go 11-0-30 and do more dmg. I still dont get why they dont rework aegis to be a flat 30% chanche that stacks with redoubt.expecially considering redoubt will be a useless talent anyway when u can cap def.

@@lukah4271 depends on your build, but I dont like to do a bunch of bullshit. I dont wanna ret tank or annoy myself. 1.4 weapon from mara with the knights pvp set is crazy with the aoe hammer rune and a 11/0/30 build. Nothing is going to be as fun or as powerful. With the bosses nerfed, 0 reason to fool with deep prot or block value gear or any of that shit. just go in and pull 1k dps like a boss. The hammer spam rune for bracers is a trap and its total shit. For helm use wrath, everything else is also shit

@@lukah4271 1.4 all the way. It double dips with the wrath rune. So you get 2% crit from it. IT is actually better than the 1.7 pvp epic. so get the libram from the pvp event.

@@lawless7859 i still want to get the full block set and block gear cause once next phase start it might feel really good to play it for dungeon leveling with holy shield and consecration. with aegis u get to around 300 block value + sanctuary rune is gonna feel way safer to pug brd with random healers.
