There are 3 twohand weapons that beat any of those you listed. Headstriker sword of agility (green boe): +19 agi Monstrous war axe of agility (green boe): +17 agi Exquisite flamberge of agility (green boe) +17 agi Those are all much better than the trident and they have pretty high weapon damage for meleeweaving as well, so you def wanna grab one of these.

great question, the most accurate comparison as a consensus among the hunter community atm is on Sixtyupgrades. you would take your agi and multiply it by 2.79, now this can go up or down if you don't have kings or lion up and will be slightly different in p2 at lvl 40. So although this isn't 100% it should be very close. so if you had 10 agi x 2.79 it's equivalent to 27.9 AP - as a side note we don't know 100% because unlike original classic we don't know at lvl 40 or 25 what the conversion of agi to crit is and we would want to use this as a guideline, not fact.

There's an easy way to determine when AP > Agi and when Agi > AP. 1 point of Agi = +2 AP. (and some % of crit/dodge and flat armor value increase (i think its 2 armor per 1 Agi, but i could be wrong)) So if an item has +8 Agi and another item has + 13 AP, you'd go with the Agi because thats +16 AP (plus crit/dodge/armor). and obviously, on the flipside if you got one item that gives +8 agi and another item that gives, say, +26 AP the AP wins out because it equals to 13 agi (minus the bonuses). You basically have to weigh whether or not the pure AP increase is worth the crit/dodge/armor loss you sacrifice for it... now, of course you could simply sim it, but it doesn't hurt to have an idea which option is better ingrained in your head. you will almost always prioritize stats (in this case Agi) over AP unless you are a caster, because raw stats are also increased by kings/lion buff. However, when it comes to stats vs. spell power, casters are in a special spot because neither spirit or intellect (or any other hard stat) increases damage with spells.

you missed the monsterous war axe of agility/power btw for two handers which hits harder than manslayer & will be much cheaper

assuming the Gnomeregan sharpening stone is similar to the BFD stone, its going to be your BiS over WF because putting it on your melee weapon affects your ranged weapon too. you could argue windfury might win out for weaving, but overall its much less of a hassle to just pop the sharpening stone on, drop the idea of weaving and just blast away, the effort you have to put in to make weaving works is not worth the very small increase in dps imo, and in case you don't pull it off flawlessly every single time, its a straight up DPS loss to weave, so yeah.

Being good at weaving is part of being a great hunter in classic, so min/maxers will always want to weave. And it is a pretty substanial dps increase as well, particularly with windfury.

I think this has been debunked, from the hunter discord "Final Conclusions: We have evidence to expect that BFD weapon hit stones do not work with our ranged attacks :)"

@@jaridevlieghere4263 really? interesting. it shows on my ECS addon that it does work, but then again, addons are hit and miss in SOD. (ECS = Extended Character Stats).

What data are u basing this on, that melee weaving "must be done perfectly to be worth it and isnt a major increase"? Top parses show like 20-30% dmg coming from melee+raptor strike+flanking+wf procs.

@@sebastianbechpetersen858 there isn't any concrete data, but from what i gather from other hunter players, if you don't weave perfectly its either a dps loss or at best not an increase. also, top parses don't represent your average huntard, so if you want to talk data, don't go by top sweat standards. top parses merely represent what is achievable in case you do, do it perfectly. so yes, its an increase in dps if you're a top player, but if you're not, it's ... well.. not.. 20-30% damage coming from melee/weave doesn't mean its actually a dps increase, it just means they trade a bit of ranged dps for melee, so you'd have to weigh the melee damage done versus the loss in ranged dps, which can be a bit tricky without a sim program. in most cases the weave doesn't _add_ to their dps, it merely trades places with other sources (ranged).

Forgot about white bandit mask! 11 str 11 agi - since most hunters are melee weaving atm, its worth trading 10 stam for 11 str

good video :) heres hoping we arent left with only guns as options from gnomer, and they add/design a compoundbow or smthn, in keeping with gnome-style but we dont have to shoot bullets as nelfs.

@@Naturetvz i recall having an addon in vanilla to make the gun sounds into bow sounds. theres always that, but i really hope we dont need it. Gnomish deathspike slinger xbow would suffice... :P

for the most part no, i covered a mail belt that's relevent, didn't cover a pair of bracers and gloves that were mail, but for the most part none of the blue mail items are really stat weighted for hunters at lvl 40.

uhh there are some, but mail items had no reason to be stat weighted with agility until after lvl 39 so there's very few mail items even viable and original classic wasn't designed around stopping at 40 and having mail items at lvl 36 for example stat weighted for hunterrs i included the mail AB rep belt / boots/ shoulders in the video, besides those 3 i think theres a pair of bracers i didn't mention because of WSG rep bracers and maybe a item or two that just got overshadowed by BFD blue items.

I only skipped through the list but it looks like there are only leather items on it. Do leather items just happen to be better or is it a little oversight that we have access to mail armor in p2 aswell?

great question, yes! there just isn't any mail items i found that were viable in pve for "prebis" as a side note: i did include Arathi Basin rep items like the belt that were mail, but that's all i had found

id assume hunters are going for SM drops too that maybe be pre bis for gnomer, pvp rewards from wsg/AB, Uldaman, RFD, rares like searing bow, but even some Hit% from BFD might be good at lvl 40 until the next set

LW epic gloves > any gloves you'll find until lvl 60 raids (unless blizzard introduces new, better gloves in gnomeregan raid or professions).

Hey mate good video but I think you miss out a big part of new hunter memo. At lv 40 Hunter can learn to use Mail gear ! means that alot of pre-bis o bis gear would be mail gear. Ofcourse you can wear leather but I think you miss out that part that mail can be equip !

great comment, it's not that i skipped that it just happens leather gear is beetter for pre-raid, unfort, i could be wrong if you know any mail iteems that should've been included please respond here and i'll link them in the discription and tag you on it! as a side note: i did include Arathi Basin rep items like the belt that were mail, but that's all i had found

The problem is that mail armor doesn't get agility stats until after level 40. Up until that point there was no class that needed agility mail.

@@TheBaldr 100% as far as pre-raid items i only mentioned 2 in the video like the AB belt that are mail not because i forgot, but more there isn't many relevant. I think i coulda mentioned the mail bracers but it's like why when the epic WSG are so good.

The bracers were originally released in phase 3 / ZG. That also explains the stats compared to T1 bracers. I personally would not assume that we can get them already. But who knows :)

but the Artian skill om like skinning is lock on 200 at lvl 41, and same with letherworing so the back at 225 can be a bit problem to got iff them lock the skill att 200 att trainer =(

Seems silly to even make this video tbh, our raid gear is almost as good and in some cases better that what we will see at 40, you dont know what new things will be added or if there will be some scaling tweaks, this is pure guess work stop trying to complete the phase before its even out, just play the game and enjoy it....people really gotta stop trying to minmax every single second they spend on the game
