You do lose the ammo if you sell a weapon to an enclave though. And it doesn't affect the influence price.

That's true! You can make a little more money by selling the ammo and attachments separately. Also, keep an eye on the scrap value vs sale value. Scraps is worth 1 influence each, so it's sometimes better to scrap and sell parts instead of selling the gun.

I have a habit of always taking all ammo out the guns when they in the locker so i can see overall ammo counts. It also fixes the trade problem.

When selling guns to enclaves always take out the ammo and the attachments if possible to either keep alittle extra or sell it for slightly more profit

We always keep our stored weapons unloaded. Makes it easier to have the ammo you need in a pinch.

I thought it was true too since my own community told me it was thus. I had to try it out myself one day. The big lesson here is that sometimes you just have to try it yourself... and in this case? It wasn't hard to test it. It's just that we assume everything we're told is probably true.

Takes more time to empty the guns instead of just scrapping them since you add 1 more button input to every gun scrap.

I forget the command. I think it's "Y" on console. Highlight a gun and look at the tooltips below. One will be an "unload" command.

How did this even become a thing circling around? Considering the amount of guns you aquire (even on nightmare and lethal) people are too cheap to salvage a already damaged/broken Handgun with a few bullets in it?? (the typical item found on either a recruited survivor or picked off a dead, former hostile enemy)

I have no idea. I keep getting told "Fox you need to unload your guns before you scrap them!" People have been telling me to do it for years, and until I figured I'd start making shorts, I never felt it was worth making a video about it.

It used to be a thing for quite a while after release. And that's the problem with an ever evolving game like SoD2 has become after the first year-unless you're a late starter, or you keep an eye on every single patch note, it's impossible to unlearn old habits.

it's still fun doing that 🤣 I did finished lethal several times that I don't need guns to finish it I only use 50 cal against hostile humans so other than that I don't use guns but still like to take out the ammo because it's fun 😂

@@GitGudFox im a newer player to SOD. I did a test with a bolt action sniper. Noticed that the ammo and muzzle were stored. Made me feel like an idiot after removing ammo and muzzle attachments for like a month.
