Hi, thanks for your wonderful videos. I would like to ask you what type of brass bushings and bolts you used to restore the airbox. I can not find them...
@AircooledProjectАй бұрын
It's a thermostat kit available on most 500 part stores. It contains the flap, bushings and other small parts. I think I got it from passione500.

Avansezi foarte bine cu motorul. Felicitari pentru progres si calitatea lucrarii.

Multumesc. E deja in masina si am facut primii 700km cu el. Merge f bine.

after applying primer and paint, did you apply more varnish? Clear coat? Is it also for high temperatures?
@AircooledProject Жыл бұрын
Yes, I did apply a high temp clear coat after paint, although it's not absolutely necessary.

Hi, what primer, paint and clearcoat did you use? I am currently working on my engine too, and i got problems to find the right paint for the engine metal parts
@AircooledProject Жыл бұрын
Hello. On the metal parts, I used high temp primer, paint and clearcoat. The manufacturer, I believe, is called Macota. It's just what I found at a local hardware store.

@@AircooledProject thank you very much! I will try to search for it and share, maybe someone else need it too, but it was not specifically 2C paint?
@AircooledProject Жыл бұрын
It is regular high temp spray paint. It is not 2C.

Hello, quick question I'm interested in your method. What pressure was needed on the compressor for soda blasting to work ? I don't know if my home compressor at 8 bars would do the work Regards
@AircooledProject Жыл бұрын
Hello. It's not so much the pressure as is the flow rate. If I remember correctly, I used around 4-6 bar. I think the maximum allowed on my blaster is 6.5 bar. The flow rate of the pump is quite important. I have a 100l capacity compressor with a 400l/min pump(discharge rate). This is not really enough. I had to take 5 min brakes after about 2-3 min of blasting. It took me half a day to do the engine case 😀.
@Mars_tial Жыл бұрын
@@AircooledProject huh mine gives 125L/min, and I'm not sure I can justify to buy a compressor that gives more than 400L/min...
@AircooledProject Жыл бұрын
@@Mars_tial yes, not worth it. You can use the one you have, it will just take a lot of time. You need to keep an eye on the pressure. When it falls under ~3 bar you need to give it a break so it can refill. If you try to blast with that low pressure, you will just waste soda. Good luck with your project!

I suggest 1200 l/pm flow or around 45 cfm.

Ciao che tipo di vernice hsi usato per verniciare la marmitta?
@AircooledProject Жыл бұрын
Hello. It's a bronze-based, very cheap paint. In Romania, we call it stove bronze, as it's widely used to paint iron stoves. It's silver when applied, but the manifolds and muffler pipes will get a little yellow after the engine runs.
