So sad you don’t know this. They are arguably the most influential and greatest Latin American Rock band of all time! Look into it and their whole catalogue is epic. This show was incredibly emotional and even this song since it was the last song of their farewell concert! They didn’t play again until 10 years after do to the insistence of their fans all over the continent to which they made their “Me verás volver Tour” all over the continent! Unfortunately, Gustavo left this world after a 4-year coma but his legacy and soul through his music is well and alive and finally being discovered by people of other latitudes thanks to electronic media. Look into this rabbit hole, sweetie. I promise you, you will not be let down!!!

That song was a long of fun. I have been trying to learn spanish for the last 2+ years. I am starting to get a decent job of reading, or at least understanding it written, and can write okay, but I sitll cannot pickup what is being said spoken. I have so, so much respect for anyone who speaks more than one language. I just can't seem to ever get another language straight in my head. Maybe its my ADHD, but I can too caught up and focused on trying to translate and the act of translating and worried that I am going to get it wrong, that I miss everything. So props to you for all that you do in your not-first language. Also, I am very empathetic person, but I am the opposite, I can't seem to cry when someone else is. I'll be there to help them, but even if I am upset too, I cannot seem to cry when someone else is. Anyone, loved the song, loved the reaction, and I would definitely be down for seeing reactions to more spanish, or non-english songs.

This video is from their farewell show in Buenos Aires. Soda Stereo and Gustavo Cerati are one of the most important figures in the evolution of Rock en Español. Unfortunately Gustavo passed away few years after suffering a stroke on tour but his music and legacy continue

Gustavo Cerati is one of the most important Latin-American musical artists of the past century. I've been a fan of his for over twenty years. Soda Stereo is his breakthru band, but he later embraced his individualistic nature and genius as a solo artist. I highly HIGHLY recommend digging into his discography in your own time: I've found everyone has a different experience (even spiritual) when they listen to his music in a more private manner. Any song of this guys is a trip! Both lyrically and musically. Many of the bands of that era made a standout for music in Spanish and, in this regard, quite the bunch of talented musicians were regarded as part of the "Rock en tu Idioma" movement. As a mexican I can speak of the gifted music of bands like Amantes de Lola, Neón, Fobia, Rostros Ocultos, Kenny y Los Eléctricos, La Lupita, La Castañeda, Cuca and of course Caifanes... Many of them or part of them are still sharing their music with us because, and rather unfortunately, none of the newest mexican bands have been able to top them... Except for The Warning, of course😜 but that's quite another story (another rabbit hole to dig in) and maybe one of the best new chapters in the history of music coming from this country😊

Anyone wanting to do a deep dive into Soda Stereo's catalog be aware that although those songs are now classics, they were years ahead of their time. Essentially every time they released an album they set the pace for other bans to follow the trend in new sound. When grunge/alternative exploded, Soda already had an album addressing all those sounds "Dynamo" Yet they never sounded like anyone else as they carved their own style.

You should check out Brian Lopez. He is from the desert southwest. He does songs in both Spanish and English. And his acoustic stuff is unreal. I recommend starting with "Pray For Rain" or his cover of "Bring On The Dancing Horses". He was also featured vocalist on Calexico's Spanish/English version of California Dreaming for the movie soundtrack for A Million Miles Away.

As a little kid in the 90s, I always thought this was a cool song. Hard to believe it's over 30 years old! As and adult and a guitar player in various cover bands, this song has been a staple for years in the bar circuit here in Texas. Everyone in the bar, from the older cats to the younger people, seems to know it and jumps up when they hear the opening chords. Other songs from them I recommend would be Persiana Americana, Profugos, Nada Personal, Cuando Pase El Temblor, Disco Eterno, and the Unplugged version of En La Ciudad De La Furia, which is legendary :)
