This helped me a lot to see other people that have gone through bullying in this video. It gives me some hope, and it reminds me that life continues. One of my biggest memories is being pinned against a tree, my life being threatened by another classmate. It's hard to explain the emotions that you have to deal with during a part of your life where you may be bullied. People can go through a lot. This is a wonderful reminder that life will get better. It makes me glad to see Sody so succesful even though she must have been hurt by her peers. (Forgive me for the poor spelling and grammar. I'm also sorry if I didn't make sense. ANYWAYS, thanks for your time)

[Verse 1] You've given others scars to heal your own I've grown back stronger but you're still alone You take it out on me as days go by Is it so hard for you to see me fly? [Pre-Chorus] I feel sorry for your conscience Does it eat you up? Maybe over time, you'll find in you something to love [Chorus] I hope no one does to you what you did to me I wouldn't wish it upon you, no not anybody But only I could've dealt with what you put me through Glad it happened to me and not you [Verse 2] I wonder if you'll ever recognise That being different isn't such a crime What if your daughter ever felt this way? I don't think that you'd treat her the same [Pre-Chorus] I feel sorry for your conscience Does it eat you up? Maybe over time, you'll find in you something to love [Chorus] I hope no one does to you what you did to me I wouldn't wish it upon you, no not anybody But only I could've dealt with what you put me through Glad it happened to me and not you Glad it happened to me and not you Glad it happened to me and not you 'Cause only I could've dealt with what you put me through Glad it happened to me and not you [Bridge] Even though you made a choice To victimise my name I just wanna use my voice To help take away the pain Even though you made a choice To victimise my name I just wanna use my voice To help take away the pain [Chorus] I hope no one does to you what you did to me I wouldn't wish it upon you, no not anybody But only I could've dealt with what you put me through Glad it happened to me and not you Glad it happened to me and not you Glad it happened to me and not you 'Cause only I could've dealt with what you put me through Glad it happened to me and not you

Thank you so much for this song. I went through a really hard time in high school my last two years. I don’t think people don’t know but bullying sometimes even comes from teachers too. My dance teacher I can honestly say put me through hell. To the point where I saw no end to the ugly treatment I was getting. But now three years later I’ve never felt stronger and more empowered. I agree with the lyrics you sang “I’m glad it happened to me and not you” because she would have never survived what she put me through. I’m proud I can say that today 💕 thank you so much

I was bullied from kindergarten all the way through 7th grade for many different things, from my looks, to my personality, to what i posted online, to my interests, basically everything. i thought it was never going to stop, the pain, the humiliation, the fear. well, it did. kids finally stopped bullying me, which felt like heaven. for everyone who is dealing with bullying right now, you have my deepest sympathy. i understand how you feel, and so do many others. you are not alone, there are people who understand how you feel. it does get better, its hard, but it does. to the person reading this, i hope whatever problem you have right now becomes easier to deal with. i love you

Wow, thank you KZbin for recommending this. Literally everything about this song is perfect, the lyrics, the message, the melody, the voice, the instrumental, the music video... This is such an important song. My experience with bullying happened a long time ago and I know that many have had it much worse than me. But the scars that were left took a long time to heal, at least for me. Bullying should never be belittled or ignored, this happens too much. But I can tell you that people who have been bullied at some point in their lives are the strongest people on this Earth. I can tell you that when the wounds have finally healed we have learned to love ourselves, be extremely compassionate and we've learned that it was never our fault. I love that this song also shows this side of bullying.
