#NASA Administrator Bill Nelson claims that the United States is currently in a space race with China, that could see Beijing attempt to make a territorial claim on parts of the moon, including the ‘undiscovered' Dark Side of the Moon.
Both #China and the #UnitedStates have lofty goals for lunar exploration and colonization. Both the #US and China have major lunar ambitions, with NASA working on its #Artemis program to return astronauts to the moon, while China aims to send its own crews to the moon before the end of the decade and build a lunar base in the 2030s.
To this point the country has given no indication that it plans to hoard resources if it gets to the Dark Side of the Moon first, or that the Chinese space station has any other purpose but to preforme traditional scientific research similar, to NASA's International Space Station.
In response to these claims, China rebutted that it plans to "steal the Moon."
Both #US and China are currently contemplating where and when to perform a landing, some of which may be in the same areas near the lunar south pole.

“The moon doesn’t revolve.” 😂 “Far side of the moon is always in the dark.” 😂😂 With such people in charge, China don’t have to worry about Space race

Nelson said the far side is the side "that's always in dark". Does he know basic astronomy? The Moon still rotates as it orbits the Earth, so the far side receives sunlight as much as the near side.

You're taking it too literally; do you think the "dark ages" meant a period of time that was lacking sunlight? It means we have no knowledge of it, we can't directly monitor it with line of sight.
@favesongslist
@favesongslist Ай бұрын
@@andrewwaller8499 That is the only half true, as you know with current satellites we can communicate with rovers on the far side, to say it is always the dark side means by direct communications, then he should have said this, He is talking to 'politicians' that don't have a clue, also as an ex- politician should know better :(

The moon gets sun-rays all round, because the earth is tidally locked to the moon, that's why we see one side of the moon. The other side of the moon should be called far side of the moon, NOT dark side of the moon. It's very basic astronomy, I'm surprised the administrator of NASA doesn't know this fact.

A normal graduate in something related to space will know what far side of moon is just not facing towards us and it is not just dark. Like no way this guy actually runs NASA right, someone don't even have a single knowledge of what space actually is? No surprise SLS is taking this long and costing this much, guess there all the money went to.

I felt embarrassed when I heard that "far side of the moon is always in the dark." I also felt embarrassed for thousands of NASA scientists and engineers who have to work for such an intelligent administrator. This really explains why we are going downhill.

❤I love our country🇺🇸we really know how to politically appoint lawyers to run our technical institutions such as NASA.. we need the lawyer to argue for the surrender of any aliens we might meet, knowledge of basic science, especially astronomy, is over-rated. We should now be fully legally protected from alien invasion, so what can possibly go wrong when the likes of Nelson can mount a legal defence when invaded, hopefully, from the “bright side” of the moon since the dark side is Chinese occupied.😂🎉 What we worry⁉️🇺🇸

Chinese engineers and scientists are amazing, they talks the talk and walks the walk. While U.S. engineers and scientists continues to making budget excuses and saying "THIS" and "THAT" about why they decided are not going to the moon... one interesting excuse is that NASA found UFO and Alien on the moon, etc. Hilarious as F&#K!
