Speaking of rich people being humble, the lady who worked at the coffe kiosk was hmble, and polite. We were taught, when we were kids, that we should always use both hands when we hand something to other people. She used both hands when she gave you the receipt.

You are one of few Westerners I know on KZbin who's extremely polite, calm, considerate, fair, would spend sometime to do a little bit research and explain everything in a pure non-politically correct way, I used to watch some big KZbinrs came to China with titles like I am blocked by Chinese governments, I am under 24/7 surveillance of CCP, and just go to those places which can strenthen their stereotype of China by addicting to Western media. I consider myself as a global citizen, I think it's very important to look at the world from different perspectives, especially when you are travelling to some places which you are not familiar with, down to earth and think and listen to different voices. I’m from the USA but I love Tim Hortons. Which is more than I can say about Trudeau. Humility is not an admired trait in the west anymore. I remember the first time I visited China in 1987. My wife and I went walking after dark near her family’s home in Jiangmen. I was carrying my daughter who was about 1 year old at the time. I think it was about 8 pm when the factory workers got off work and started riding home on their bikes. At that time in China, the streets were poorly lit with very few street lights and not many sidewalks. So I got very nervous when all of these bikes started whizzing by from behind. But my wife told me to just keep walking. She said that none of the bicycles would hit us. She was right. In China, there is a high degree of social trust that continues today.

There is a display cabinet showing bagels and other foods, and the variety of coffee is much more than the variety of subway stations. And you mentioned that the taste is different. I agree. There are three Tims coffee shops near my home. The taste of each one is a little different, even if it is the same coffee. Not to mention the cigarettes in China are way better, the more expensive ones of course. But overall I think smokers in China are decreasing as more and more young people know how bad it is to one's health.

The place you were in is Xin-Tian-Di 新天地 in Shanghai. It is a very historical district in Shanghai, where many of the buildings were either built by the French when they colonized the city or in the later era. The beautiful Starbucks is a building with Shi-Ku-Men 石库门 style, a popular style during 1910-20ish. Even though most areas are either heavily renovated or removed, you can still feel the rich sense of history.

In Hangzhou, another city not far from Shanghai, pedestrians are king. Cars actively give way to pedestrians, which is the civilized standard of this city. Sometimes pedestrians will give way to drivers when crossing the road. The civilization cultivated by the Chinese government is the civilization that all mankind should have. Hangzhou is a very beautiful city with mountains and rivers, and it is also one of the richest cities in China. You can really go and experience it.

This place is so relax, laid back compared to Yorkville !!! Looks really nice and trendy , like an oasis inside a big city. The way they restored or preserved these old buildings reminds me of Old Montreal. Maybe the city has some program or city by laws to preserve the old houses and old buildings.

Not sure for Canada. Marlboro is around $50 AUD per pack in Australia. While in China, depending on the brands, can be as low as 10-15RMB per pack. 12:15

Wow, after your video, I love to visit Shanghai and more of China. We are from Vancouver, BC. crimes and drugs are everywhere... hospitals filled with drug addicts. Robberies in restaurants... RCMP told us just to hand over car keys and claim insurance if car is being robbed from us... I don't feel safe living here anymore. So stressed out as a retiring senior!

To the Chinese people, their freedom, democracy and human rights are that Chinese families with young children and elderly alike can enjoy freely and safely in public spaces in both mega cities or rural villages in China. With government support, they have rights of access to affordable and decent healthcare, food, water, transport and education, housing as well as other public amenities and social services. Clearly, such freedom, human rights and democracy cannot be seen in the US and many Western countries.

It's amazing that you visited China's major cities, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I'm Greg from New York City, with a BS in evolutionary biology focused on human genetics. You find Chinese people evolving favorably, showing strength in health, adaptability, and success. Their success stems from homogeneity, allowing them to excel as intended by natural selection. Pure populations seem to adapt better to change compared to mixed populations. Your admiration for China's cultural stewardship and evolutionary progress is profound. Their advancement showcases human evolution's beauty like classical music, giving hope for the future. Thanks for sharing your videos.
