I respect their decision to go their separate ways to live their lives the way each of them wants to live it. People say they should have talked about this beforehand. But often couples get caught up in the relationship and don't realize how it will affect them later. I can't imagine wanting a child and not being able to fill that dream when you still have a chance. But I respect her decision too that she's already has a child and is done raising kids.

For everyone saying why wasn't this a conversation prior to getting married, they DID talk about it. I remember an interview where Sofia basically said one of the reasons they didn't date too long was 'cause jJoe wanted kids so she was basically like I'm not getting any younger so let's do this. She was 43 when they got married so my guess is she thought they had time but then they may have had trouble conceiving natuarally and then before she knew it she was getting close to 50 and realized she couldn't do this anymore.

I would think she's had frozen eggs for a while. I remember even with her other ex they had this public legal battle about some frozen embryos. I don't think she was expecting to get pregnant naturally by the time she met Joe. However, whatever it was, either it was because she couldn't or didn't want, it was just the right decision to divorce, as sad as it might be. I ended a relationship because of something similar, and I was 28, where in my case, the longer we were together, the less sense it made to me to have kids with him. So whatever were the reasons for Sofia or Joe, it is unfortunately just a big incompatibility.

I read your comment after posting mine, but the interview I saw/read was a bit different, she said it more casually like if it happens, it happens, essentially saying they married for them, a child would just be a bonus. This comes off as a total d!ck move, wasting her 40s, probably hoping for a kid & potential alimony later on, only to leave her at 50, when her talent & success in Griselda being in production, & what he should have wanted to support & celebrated w her.

they've been married for 7 or 8 years and she was 45 yo when they married and he was 40, I doubt she didnt mention she was alredy too old to have kids, probably he had a change of heart because felt the clock ticking, but I really dont know, just my opinion tho.

They must have had this discussion BEFORE MARRIAGE! AS A WOMAN INTO MENOPAUSE, it is more difficult to conceive and the body is already going through so many changes. It is sad the way it ended but Honesty must be an important aspect for a healthy relationship in a marriage. If he wants children they would have to adopt and sometimes we as women recognize that the particular phase of going through nursery, pre school,high school and university is just not in the works anymore. Especially when she had her son so young! Wishing them both the best!🙏🏾

When my ex proposed, I said yes if you are ok with not having kids, because I am never going to want them.We even talked to our marriage minister about this and he said to my fiancé “you need to be good with her choice -are you?” My fiancé said “I’d rather have her than kids.” Then, two years in, HE changed his mind. Then his mother began nagging me-“why don’t you give me grandchildren?” It was too much. I left him. I am 63 and still great with my decision. And I hope he has achieved fatherhood with a new wife.

They made the cutest, funniest couple. They had people giggling and laughing and having a great time WITH them. They both have engaging personalities that draw people in and I believe that's why the public were so sad about their divorce. We were broken hearted to see something so great come to an end. I always hoped that they would do a sitcom together. It would've filled us with laughter and joy in every episode. They were great together and I wish they would've discussed the issue about kids earlier in their relationship. Who knows? They might have and Joe didn't realize what he would be missing out on until he turned 40 and he suddenly had an epiphany? Or maybe she realized what he was missing out on and decided to go with a divorce so that he didn't have to choose between her and having babies of his own. No matter what it is, I agree with her about not having kids at 45. I'm 59 now and I sure wouldn't want to be still raising kids at my age. WHEW. I'm tired and ready to start taking it easy. And all of my grandkids are teens except for one. And in this day and age of technology, they don't have time for grandma except on holidays and birthdays. Then they will put down the phones and game systems for a few hours. But other than that??? Nope. Not much of nothing for me. LOL.

I absolutely wanted and love it but also get sad that i will be so old when she is finishing school and pray for a lonv life to be there for her. Men can have kids at any age...after 42 it gets alot harder for women...sad but it's how biology works. Also, men can easily make kids everywhere but woman are usually the ones doing most of the raising and since she already was mostly a single parent, she probably didnt want such a responsibility at this age if they broke up and its totally understandable. She worked hard and is now at a place to enjoy it. Just perhaps, they should have lead with their heads and not their hearts at the start but at least they didnt throw a kid in the mix to suffer.

It gets hard for men too. People aren’t told the full truth. Men lose half their sperm count in their 30s. Perhaps it’s harder on the woman because the woman carries the baby and in older age it’s not so easy. If men were the ones to carry the baby, older wouldn’t be ideal for men either as they also age. Not in their prime.

I respect her reasons for divorcing but she went into this KNOWING that he was younger and that he wanted kids. So why bother to marry him? It’s weird on Joe’s part because not long after they got married, she said in an interview that she’s not likely to get pregnant at that age, but if it happens, it happens - seemingly he knew full well & married her anyway. If he had hesitations about that, why waste her time. I would be livid, she’s very classy keeping her composure. Luckily, she’ll get someone better who truly deserves her. I love that she doesn’t care about saying what caused it, she didn’t have to, but it’s nice seeing celebs that people can relate to on a human level. I hope Sofia gets only the best next time, with a solid prenup! ❤
