any idea how to make it so when i want to watch a movie i can just click movie and it goes to all the proper settings like on a logi or logitech?

Yes! With the updated smartphone app, you can create a macro to make a series of setting selections (e.g. brightness, volume, EQ, input etc.) then program that macro to any button on the remote for a selected device. While there isn't a "movie" button, you could use one of the non-specific color coded buttons or replace another button's function with your custom macro.

@@nicor1501 No, once the remote is programmed with the IR signals and/or macros, the smartphone is not needed for normal operation of the U1 with the devices it controls. You'll only need the smartphone again if you want to add more remotes or change and customize the buttons on the remotes already programmed.

@04:29 - I've read in reviews that if the sending remote doesn't continually send a signal (with a button held down) continual presses will help the sofabaton to register the code. ?

That's possibly true, I'm not sure that was my issue since eventually I was able to program every one of my remotes without having to do that. But that's a good tip! If I encounter a remote like that I'll have to try that.

No, not unless they share the exact same RF frequency which is unlikely (though we used to have two Samsung devices, a Blu-Ray player and TV, that responded to the same remote control, it would work in that scenario if their RF receivers were positioned in the same general area).

Can this be paired with a game system like the Xbox One/PS4? Not for actual gaming, but to use general apps on it like Netflix Etc.

I've seen other user reviews that said they were able to connect the remote with Xbox One, so that should work fine. Since the PS4 has neither an IR receiver nor Bluetooth remote capability, you would need to have HDMI-CEC capability on your TV which would pass the remote signal to the PS4 over the HDMI cable, rather than communicating directly with the PS4. Then you would need to enable the HDMI Device Link option on the PS4 to get it to work with the remote, so the answer there is "maybe" depending on the capabilities of your TV.

Somewhat disappointed that the remote doesn't light up. When watching anything at night nothing lights up except the particular device I'm on. Love it, but that's a basic feature on most universal remotes.

You can try to find your TV's model number in the preset selections in the app. You may get lucky and it's already pre-programmed there so all you have to do is load it to the U1 and it should work. The app will walk you through the verification process to ensure you've selected a compatible remote control profile for your device (see 2:58).

Any experience with Shield TV Pro 2019? I think with Bluetooth devices you can't reassign key..say you want to operate the volume from a soundbar with your shield..any way to do it with a macros. Thanks for any tidbits..Best Regards!!

Hi. Sorry, I don't have any experience with the nVidia Shield TV Pro, though I've heard good things. Yes, I found with Bluetooth remotes added to the Sofabaton U1, you can't reassign the keys that the are sets by the default profile for that device, however, you can reprogram any of the unused keys with a macro. So if you've already added the soundbar IR remote to the Sofabaton, you can choose an unused key in the Shield remote profile, select 'Create Macro for This Key', choose the soundbar, and then choose the key command you want to execute for it. That way a "single" device profile, can control multiple devices without having to scroll to another device on the OLED.
