It remains to be seen whether this largely new leadership will dare to tackle content the way the OG Rockstar did. From my memory at least, companies going DOA/being under embargo on their big projects is not a new thing; things like the recent shut down projects that we know (Bully 2, for example) give a great reason why, it’s better to create hype for projects when they’re close enough to being done instead of becoming the next Half Life 3. Think about everything that hindered production in those ten years as well: five years between GTA V and RDR2, there’s also Online for both games (love it or hate it), then COVID happened in 2020 and forced the developers back home, and then the strikes happened last year. Only now are they bringing devs back into crunch time, likely because of these leaks. I actually have no doubt that the original 2021 release that was mentioned in the video could have been true at the time, but then everything else happened. Delays are also common with GTA, the last two games saw a game that was about a year after its intended release. This could also be why we just have a year so far, we’re being told 2025, but it’s completely possible we could see GTA 6 release at the same time as the World Cup. Idk I’m sorry that your comment is the one to get this huge paragraph but I don’t see why everyone are so worked up over a process we’ve all been through we’ve done 5~7 times before lol it just seems like nothing imo

Just a brief clarification at 7:57. The leaked clips aren't from late 2019, they are from 2021 all the way to September 2022, just mere days before the leak. I believe people thought this was from a way earlier build due to the graphics, but you gottta understand, when you are making a game you turn off all of the graphical settings so it doesn't interfere with testing other aspects of the game.

As much as I love gaming and wanting to know things about games I know and love that are upcoming, you have to take a step back and realize that these leaks are destroying the hopes of dreams of devs and artists who've sunk their blood, sweat, and tears into these media just for a jerkoff nobody to rip it from them like a ripping a lollipop out of a happy child's hands and display their work to the world when it wasn't ready. I don't know where you got the "Aaron Garbut's son" info from. It's wrong, and potentially extremely harmful due to putting blame on an innocent child. It was his son's (ex-)friend. I've seen the misconception a few times right after the leak, but in a few hours everything was cleared. If the wrong info is still out there, it should be called out.

For those unaware, The Know's Project America's video *was* right as of release in 2018. The game was set to take place in Vice City, bits of South America (likely Colombia or Brazil), and parts of the Caribbean, as well as was set for a 2020/2021 release date. However, in late 2019 and early 2020, Dan Houser (one of the founding members) left Rockstar, and GTA6 went through a story reboot. It was changed from a Narcos-inspired 80's Cartel game to a modern day one, reduced to just Leonida and possibly bits of whatever the GTA version of Georgia and Alabama are. But before the reboot, the 2020/2021 release window was the original window, and the GTA6 we were originally gonna get would've been announced at that first PS5 showcase in early 2020

Look at every other GTA trailer and this is exactly like those, rockstar has always released a small cinamatic trailer showcasing the setting and than later on release a gameplay trailer showing actual gameplay. We've only gotten the cinematic trailer that announces the game, we are just waiting on the main gameplay trailer.

Evolving map? How much want we bet on none of this evolution being accessable in singleplayer? It's already funny how all go crazy over the leaked map size, while actually 2 large urban areas n 1 village isn't remotely as ambitious as they were 20 years ago, vice city wasn't much bigger than gta5 ls on a map that overall dwarfs the last n the 3rd big area was too sqare-ish to be a city n to big for a prison so it will prolly b military n not accessable without a catch like full wanted n mortal danger. The rest is landscape and doesn't seem too far beyond what should b expected as a good fit for the size of urban areas. If they also have just one village/small town of roughly "paleto type" that actually is disapointing cuz around two population centers it makes no sense. If there was already 1 such, a large village and a small village 4 ls alone, it's obvious how wrong it would feel to have less attached to double ls like area. further that fact itself hints to the next trickery - the low number of such settlements was responsable to trick the player into percieving the map larger than it really was. That's the catch about these map size compairsions, tho' the old san andreas was way smaller than 5's - even a 2nd ls sized city on 5's map would leave barely space for free nature. It took about 5 minutes more to circle the outside roads in sa than sa in gta5 as a good driver in a compairable car. However the new gta will turn out tho', it will never b remotly enough to b an acceptable excuse for the insane waiting time... which btw also is reported to have suffered the 1st delay since '25 was made official... well into '26. It's indeed very normal 2 have 1 or 2 delays b4 gta's release but that was all in relation to a timegap of 4 years tops. The only larger gap of over 5 years, also was delayed a 3rd time 6month further the date that was the planned drop . But now we wait the 11th year, have one to go, one more rumored n it was 10 till they even gave any official data. A sentence like "not realizable" with the hardware they have, the tools they now have and the timewindow that was large enough for r*to release every game they made from gt3 till gta5, even till rdr2 with the delayed time... The idea of two full sized maps to travel between, shouldn't b to optimistic but rather a suitable setting to expect. After all, their most ambitious part n greatest leap in terms of playable content n size, was also a game that took roughly 2years to drop. I can only wonder how crazy that must sound 4 ppl who came into gta only after4 or even 5.

I don’t really care much about gta 6, 5 wasn’t exactly great. It was a mixed bag with a few interesting features like first person mode and weapon upgrades n such. Though still stuff like “online” only vehicles was pure fecal matter. Given you could get them in SP with a trainer, still though pretty lame. GTA IV also had way cooler dmg models. I feel like it’s getting into unfortunate territory. Where way too much is expected and too many features and what not is added. Drastically bloating file size and hardware requirements to absurd levels. Course also rockstars god awful mortal sin of requiring accounts n crap on their service launcher crap. FR when I get a game on steam n click play I just wanna play the game I bought, not need to muck about with a pointless secondary account/ system thing. It seems games are continually getting more n more bloated in file size, and I wonder if it’s really worth it. I still have lots of fun in gta iv, or skyrim or fo4.
