Rockstar Games is one of the most respected game companies, but it doesn't mean their perfect. Rockstar has FAILED us with launches of GTA Online, Red Dead Redemption 2 and the GTA trilogy. Each of these Rockstar titles had rocky start to say the least. So today, we look back at what happened with Rockstar's Failed Game Launches.

I'm not joking when I say I lucked out hard in 2021 when I bought the original GTA games on PC, that being GTA III Vice City and San Andreas, about three months before the announcement of the definitive edition. I'm probably among the last people to buy the original GTA games before they were deal-listed.

@@muggrootbeer It did in 2020 thanks to games for windows being forced onto GTA 4 when the game came out. Thankfully 4 is still up on steam but playing the online multiplayer is Impossible unless you own a copy of GTA 4 PC disc

@@cynoflads Their is a way to mod multiplayer back into GTAIV with the GTAIV Downgrader, where you have the option to add back GFWL (modded ofc), but me and my friends had a blast with it we also got the Zolika trainer in online to mess around with mods. Now that I'm remembering it correctly, I think I have the version with all the 3 dlcs.

Definitely played a big part but I bet it’s mainly due to GTA O and GTAV being the same game till 2021. People had to buy both to play one on their new consoles or PC

I genuinely believe that GTA 6 won't have a falied launch, i think Rockstar knows that many of the fans wants the perfect experience when they got their hands on the game, and all of the devs are hardworking and the game isn't rushed

Ik the GTA 6 story will run smoothly but I hope GTA 6 Online won't repeat the same mistakes they made with GTA 5 Online and Red Dead Online whether it's having barely any content or not being able to run servers properly or having everything being unreasonably priced.

I remember when RDR2 came out on pc, and for me the game was almost flawless, some issues here and there, and a single crash in valentine, but only happened for the first few hours, it was so weird seeing everyone talking about the game's problems, and I felt so lucky to not have these problems

the launcher also sucks you cant play without it if it doesnt work you cant play the game and you cant even play singleplayer without the launcher or internet or an account

True the Launcher is pretty bad at times. But Rockstar had to get around those Steam fees somehow

The only other terrible multiplayer launch i can think of is Battlefield 4. That game too had a horrific multiplayer launch, plagued with bugs, connection errors and flatout server shutdowns.

I sadly never got to experience the launch of GTA Online, but I did get to experience the launch of Red Dead Online. As much as I love Red Dead, I would argue Red Dead Online was a failure at launch too. (I can't remember if it had a lot of technical issues at launch though). It had nothing to do, it was essentially just creating a character, loading in, and just roaming around. This was during the Red Dead Online Beta, so I guess it's excusable, but Red Dead Online just never got the love from Rockstar that GTA Online did. It makes me so sad, because Red Dead 2's world to me is so much more compelling and interesting compared to GTA 5's. The fact that Rockstar basically abandoned it just urks me. Great video, Jetro! Keep up the good work!

I will forgive them for butchering GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas These 3 games made my childhood, made the GTA franchise and made Rockstar the company that it is today Its a shame they remastered these 3 games TWO F'ING TIMES and yet they still couldn't get it right 🤦

Womp womp. They never miss on the original releases, which is the ones they spend years making, that meaning the console releases. Could care less about pc, because it eventually becomes the best version and until then you have the console versions that always amazing. To be honest kind of a click bait. They are just bad at online and pc releases, is basically what you say.

I played gta the trilogy the definitive edition and not just radio and weapon wheel played a huge part of gta 5 but skip ⏭ section played a huge part in gta 5 and would be perfect for gta the trilogy the definitive edition. Gta 3 vice city San Andreas liberty city vice city stories gta 4 lost and the damned and the battle of gay Tony should be made from the ground up. I hope Tommy Vercetti and Claude speed will swim 🏊‍♂ once when gta 6comes out I have hopes and dream that all of the classic gta video game 🎮 will be made from the the ground up. I 100 💯 percent with David cross and you that the worst mission in San Andreas is supply lines.
