Soffit Exhaust Vent - Installation: Dundas Jafine

The Dundas Jafine soffit exhaust vent is ideal for exhausting bathroom and kitchen fans through the soffit of your home. This product can be mounted under the soffit panel and connects to 4”, 5” or 6” ducts. Features include a frost free damper system that keeps cold air out and helps conserve energy. The stylish flush mount design can be painted to match the exterior of the home and the leak proof collar to duct connection helps prevent moist air backdraft.
This product has an outer grill and flap preventing pests from entering your home through the duct. It is designed to work on a minimum of 50 CFM fan, installed on a 25′ duct run.
Like many of our other products, the Soffit Exhaust Vent has a UV resistant coating to prevent the cap from discoloring and is paintable to match the soffit of your home.

can you use this for the dryer, the birds got into the one with the flapper

Due to the fixed grill and the difficulty in cleaning and removing lint from this product it should not be used for clothes dryer applications. Please check out our ProShield Exhaust Hood as a great alternative to keeping pests out. It utilises this same spring loaded damper system but is for clothes dryer applications.

@@DundasJafineInc Can the proshield be used in a vertical application in the soffit. I have the dundas soffit dryer vent but the flapper stays open and birds have gotten in.

@@jasoncrowley9948 The spring tension has not been tested for prolonged periods in this position so its undertermined whether over time the spring will continue pulling the shield back to this closed position or whether gravity will work against it.

Instructions state that it's not for use with a clothes dryer. Why advertised as such, I don't know. I use two for bath fans, work fine.

Can it be used at wall instead of soffit. My bathroom outlet vent comes out at wall .
