People like Sophia are the reason why I study my ass off everyday to become a doctor. To have a chance at saving a beautiful life like hers. Update: I started medical school Aug 2020. I'll come back in 2024 with a 2nd update. Keeping Sophia as my inspiration for the work I do. Even in heaven she touches my heart on a daily basis. 2024 Update!! Today is Match Day in the USA, where all the medical students find out where and what they will be training after medical school. I will be training to become an ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON... one of the very few women accepted into the most difficult to enter field of medicine in the USA. My training will include orthopedic oncology dealing in the surgical management of bone cancers like the one that took Sophia away from the world all too soon. I appreciate all the kind words in the comments 🙏 I'll be graduating residency in 2029... should we keep the updates going? 🤔

My mother wouldnt be here if it wasn't for God's grace in the amazing doctors that took care of her in her time of need. I was recently diagnosed as epileptic, an easily treatable condition that most people live with and deal with and I can't even deal with it and have become agoraphobic because of it. Pain is not worth the gain, but people have been cured. People have also died, as a result. Alarmingly, doctors have forced chemo onto people.

To all of the people finding this video and thinking they are too late, you are not at all too late. This video that Sofia left for us has become, for me, a valuable anchor. Something that I come back to, over an over, to weigh against whatever it is I am going through in my life. I have Multiple Sclerosis, and it is difficult, and when I feel hopeless, I come back here again, and I remember Sofia and her suffering. Not just the fact that this horrible thing happened, but that she was so brave, so honest, and even here, when there is no hope left for her, she is still thinking about the suffering of others in the world. What amazing lessons she left us. Take these lessons, go out there, like she said, and live the best life you possibly can. Give life everything you have got and get everything you can out of it! We are all flesh and bone, and in the end, we all die, and many will suffer, but the beauty of life, the beauty of Sofia, is so worth clinging too, protecting, cherishing and above all NEVER taking for granted. Love to you and yours.

I watched this in the waiting room at mass general just before my 12th bone marrow biopsy today. I've always known how lucky I am and after watching this I know I'll never forget it. An incurable cancer diagnosis, 32 cycles of chemo, 1 stem cell transplant, 1 t-cell transplant, 4 rounds of radiation, 12 bone marrow biopsies and 4 years of misery yet I'm one of the lucky ones. I've never complained and for Sofia's sake, I never will. Stay strong beautiful and live every day like everyone should...like there's no tomorrow.

Don't give up Honey...I was sent home to die in 2014 and I know how scary and tiring it is. I just take each day and try to be happy. Making KZbin videos makes me feel like someone cares and is listening to me. I feel connected! A person from New Zealand gave me some advice and I have been doing that since they shared it with me. I never have posted much about it all... but what people don't realize is we sit and think about whats going on inside our bodies and that makes it even scarier!! I try not to think about the logistics!! I wish I had money to do things with my life but disability is so low in the US! its crazy! My wish was to go to New Zealand. I’m a Breast cancer survivor, was diagnosed in 2015 and was also pregnant. just had reconstruction surgery in July 2018 and they found cancer in one of my lymph node. Now I have to undergo chemo . My mum was pretty much the cleanest living person you can imagine- she never smoked, didn't drink, was a yoga teacher who ate a ridiculously healthy vegan diet BEFORE it became fashionable. She died after a long and painful battle with cancer where she ate a special diet, did reflexology and acupuncture and everything else you can imagine to try and help her body heal. She was the most positive, optimistic person I've ever met, and it wasn't enough. When she'd been fighting for her life every day for years it was like a kick in the face for someone to come along and say "You just need to stop using shampoo with chemicals in, and eat healthily. If you really want to you can cure yourself." Some people might be lucky, but it's not as simple as you make out. You might think that cancer is a new phenomenon, but it's been the single biggest killer in my family for generations- I've lost grandparents, an aunt, uncle and my mother, and they lost their family members before them. They didn't die because they were ignorant- they died fighting.
