Thank you for giving your honest feelings about the launch. And the problems people are having with it. To see the clip of the young lady who got the full experience for FREE boils me for the people who paid Full PRICE! I was fortunate enough to have worked for a generous doctor that gave me one from the initial launch when I was very young. I was able to pass it down to my little sister and she passed it down to her daughter and now my teenage daughter is using it. Talking about a full circle moment!

I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags... so more people choose fashionable *regbags* :bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.

I managed to order online on the 3rd of January (Speedy 25) and it is still not sent. My SA have no idea when/if it is going to be send. I think I will just cancel the order, I totally cooled off on it. And it is extremely rude and unprofessional from LV to take so much money from their customers without giving them products.

I agree! I think this was a great opportunity to bring people back to the brand. Even if it's just a little pouch or keychain, a lot of people would have loved to collect something. It would have been a good way to attract Gen Z as well

My delivery window is listed as this week yet the item is still pending verification… sooooooo. I called and requested to cancel my order - I am now in the club that gave a free loan to LVMH. It’s frustrating that they aren’t sure they can fulfill my order NOR are they sure they can cancel and refund my money! Hoping they can cancel it.

I got the same experience on the black speedy 30 on the 2nd of Jan. The SA said "they will try to get it" when pinging them about 10 days later. I was so annoyed so I requested refund. They should not sell it when it is not guaranteed to be available

First of all thank you for posting this video. I'm a collector of LV bags and had a Murakami Alma back in the day, but I exchanged it for the Theda runway bag. Don't know if that was smart, but I did what I did. Lol I don't like the fact that influencers are getting these bags in different limited edition packaging. In fact, it doesn't sit well with me and I don't think there should be a distinction between what the general public can get versus what the influencers get. In my opinion it's in poor taste and creates a very uncomfortable atmosphere because now we can't get what certain influencers have. And I can tell you that another thing that doesn't sit well with me as a lot of of these influencers could probably afford purchasing these items on their own. At the end of the day, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth with influencers in general Sofia..... you are refreshing and honest and I appreciate you. 🌸 I think you should've gotten a limited edition packaging as well and I think it should be available to everyone to be honest.

also from a stock perspective it took away bags that people probably would have purchased. like they were giving away 2 of the more popular bags in the collection. Even if people didn't get the white packaging/tissue paper, these bags really should have come with a limited edition dust bag.

They didn't misjudge quantity in my opinion, they didn't even fill pre-orders. They are trying to pull an Hermès without wanting to offer that type of quality, in my opinion. I do believe that this was on purpose. I do not even like LV, never have, and the drama is all I have been hearing about, so I think they succeeded. They created a sort of imprinting for the brand that has reached most, as "hard-to-get" luxury. The most concerning part to me, as an Economist, is the practice of having clients pay in full months in advance and not even having to fill the order with certainty (which is a usual practice for them, I have heard). That's a sketchy way to operate a business through interest-free loans.

What really annoys me is the amount of the new collection that is already for sale on the Real Real. Obviously these items were either gifted to influencers who didn’t really care for them, or VICs who grabbed what they could just to resell. This whole saga has left a really sour taste in my mouth.

I agree that it’s not fair that people who pay full price don’t receive the full experience but an influencer can. I don’t like having to pay full price in advance and not have my items guaranteed. In the past, if you pre-ordered you knew you were going to get what you paid for. LVMH is all about the bottom line and no longer about customer care.

Yes I feel really bad for the employees at the stores. Because they are the ones that have to tell the customers that they can't get their pre orders and packaging. And on top of that, they get very little commission on a lot of these smaller items and canvas bags

By the way my SA told me at the store that high spender customers were contacted with a preview of the sale and offer them a presale and warranted their items as long as they were spending over 100k on the collection. The entire launch was a complete shitshow, but I'm thrilled that I have five Murakami items in hand (black empreinte Neverfull, Superflat Monogram Bandeau, Attrap Reves fragrance, panda cardholder, and black panda alma BB) with three more items ordered (and hopefully not cancelled!): Monogram Superflat Neverfull, black Victorine wallet, and empreinte panda mini pochette. I love the collection and the only way I was able to get these items was through non-stop stalking, and contacting various CA's in flagship locations. My local store was completely useless. It's been an insane amount of effort!

Lovely collection! I bought my first LV when I was 25 and I only used that bag a few times, haha. Also, love your clutch! I have an Eva clutch in the DE print and love the little chain. But I don't want to spend so much money on it now, I have been *regbags* buying the items I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things.

I agree 💯 % woth all of what you said, specially the lack of organization and lack of stock on the products, and you are completely right, this wasn't meant to be a collection for the avarage LV customer. I was told by my SA that this collection was offered way ahead of it release to top LV clients and warranted their items so long of the purchase was 100k dollars 💵 entirely from the collection. Us mortals never stood a chance 😢 Now the only option seems to be the resale market which is marking up items from the collection to twice the price at least.

Omg, the vintage Murakami Greta bag that you showed from Fashionphile's page is the exact one I bought! It was in great condition, especially the vachetta. After I failed to secure anything other than sandals from the drop, I searched online for vintage. I'm so glad I found 2 amazing preloved pieces to get my Murakami fix, lol. Love everything! The side trunk is such a great, functional bag, and I love the MM size! The 30” Soft Speedy is fabulous too! I picked up the sunglasses in black, but that’s it. I was so annoyed about the the poor planning around this release, and thought it was ridiculous that influencers got special packaging that wasn’t available to paying customers

I love all the pieces that you got. I love the side trunk in the mm size. It was my most used bag for 2 months straight. I wanted the romy in green too but it was sold out. I was quite lucky with this collection. I manage to pick up 2 bags on launch day in stores. I got the white pochette accessories and black speedy nano. I also got to pre order the white speedy nano with my SA on the same day. I got a message from her today saying it’s ready for collection. I’m from London, England and there was no line at the flagship store on launch day which was surprising. There wasn’t a lot of stock at all. Most of the bags was for display only. I had to go to 2 different LV stores to get my 2 bags. The flagship store they said one bag per costumer but the other LV I went to said you can buy 3 things and that they can sell the display bags too. I didn’t get all the packaging either. I got the shopping bag and the onion man but no ribbon or tissue paper. I like that they kept it kind of like the original but with modernised twist. I don’t think they put fun interior like the old collection because the red interior was bleeding through.

also, they bungled admission into the tokyo pop-up. i went and the line to get in was 2 hours long - there was no way i was going to waste 2 hours to get into something where i’m not even guaranteed i can buy what i want. chanel beauty had a wonderful pop-up for their holiday collection and they gave out timed entry tickets so there was no need to queue.

I enjoyed hearing your perspective and seeing what you were able to get! The launch was a huge disappointment, especially for folks that don't live near a store or have a CA to reach out to. I was unable to get anything online on launch day after wasting the entire day trying to add things to my cart and check out, super frustrating. Since launch day i've been stalking the website and online CAs via instagram to snag anything from my wishlist. I've been able to get 1 item that way but it's been very time consuming and annoying. I agree with you - who was this for and why was it hyped so much if there was very little stock available for the average customer in the US, doesn't make sense.

Way before I even heard of luxury bags, I remember that LV collection making a splash. I think I even had a no-name barrel bag with the mini bag charm that I’m betting was a nod to that collection. Such a shame that the people who were really nostalgic for this collex couldn’t get it, but teeny bopper influencers who have no cultural ties to it are getting the bags and all the lux touches they probably don’t even appreciate. Glad you were able to get what you were looking for. That SA deserves a raise!

Wow. I totally remember this initial launch bc EVERYONE in California had one- or at least fake ones, let’s be real! I love the black with silver hardware- I like it a lot better than the white/gold, which IMO looks kinda dated/80’s. Enjoy it, Sofia!

Your two bags are so beautiful. I still have my White and black speedy and they are beautiful so i don't really need a new bag. But I like the speedy 30 in black. It's much more updated and everyday. Congrats on your pieces! I purchased a Nano Madeleine in the new pink/quartz color which ships in a week. Hoping they drop more because I would love the speedy 30 or maybe the Alma BB because I have never purchased an Alma.

I remember being so jealous of people with the Marc Jacobs x Takashi Murakami pieces back in the day! Especially the extremely limited releases and museum involvement was really inspiring to me. I loved seeing TM exhibits in LA and I have always wanted a piece of his art. I am still confused about who designed this collection and totally agree they stripped away a lot and it felt very cut and paste as you described it. I want to get TM new book. I have his older one “the octopus eats its own leg.”

In the movie Blue Jasmine, Cate Blanchett carries a Speedy 30 low on her hip with the bandolier strap. Once your bag ages and gets more slouchy, you might wear it that way. She dresses up for most of the movie, but I think she had a getaway from the city weekend with Alec Baldwin so she might have been wearing jeans. This is all from memory when I saw the movie in 2013. I was 50 and had just gotten my first LV bag. I’m 61 now and have a lot of designer bags. I still adore LV. Enjoy your awesome new pieces!

I am old enough to remember the first release. I really loved it, but ultimately decided against buying a purse because I thought they would get dated rather quickly. And they definitely do. I love this second release too, but now I am too old to be interested enough to buy. And I still think the pieces will get dated really quickly.

The reason LV is one of the biggest luxury brands in the world is because they have a lot of price points. But they treated this collection like it was an exclusive drop while marketing it to a younger generation (just didn't make sense to me)

Hi Sofia, I love your new beautiful bags and accessories! I haven't purchased anything from LV in a long time. I have been so disappointed with the collections they have been coming out with in the last several years and the quality issues with their products. However, this collection has brought me back. I had a bracelet from the original collection with the charms but the quality of it was pretty bad. The bracelet started twisting and I eventually sold it. This new collection has a multicolor bracelet so, I immediately jumped on it in hopes of replacing my old one. I contacted my LV SA after the collection had already been released. Like you and the rest of the clients buying these products, I had to put down a deposit without guarantees of receiving my item. My SA is amazing though and was able to get me the bracelet within a few days and sent it to me. I did receive the shopping bag and the ribbon but no tissue paper or the panda. I get what you mean about the complete experience and that was a bit disappointing as I am a collector of these things. Thank you for making this video and enjoy your new purchases!

I was on my 30s when the original Murakami collection was released. Back then, at the time of release, a lot of people didn’t know Murakami. I was able to pickup many pieces in release day in store and there wasn’t this mania that followed once it was seen on all the celebs. I am still in love with the original collection and I have many rare pieces in pristine condition, The new collection is a miss for me. First, it’s missing the key ingredient: Marc Jacobs. He was the visionary that knew how to balance Kawaii cuteness and femininity with a Murakami edge. Additionally all that added hardware defeats the purpose of designs like the speedy that were made to be low weight. The way this was designed in late Jacobs period was to add rivets to the bottom of the bag that didn’t really increase weight but protected the bottom. Also, many of the pieces are much too big, taking away from the petit cuteness of the styling. I’m sad to say it’s a no for me. I’m hoping Cerises in may is better but I don’t think there’ll be anything better than what I already have.

Well said Sofia, Is really a miss opportunity for them not having enough stocks. Furthermore, the SLGs are easy sell, why certain countries only get the key pouch? Is so silly. Yeah make something different too. Lucky you got what you wanted. I only managed to get a card holder. I wanted the Pochette Accessories in black, but the website is always showing "notify me" since the day of launch. I do not get to pre-order from my SA since i do not have a good one which do not even bother to reply. It is really an epic FAIL for Louis Vuitton. Giving a full experience to the influencer who get it for FREE but we actual spending consumer, they skim on this, on that, not consistent. What else Louis Vuitton, what is next? NO I was TOLD THERE WILL BE NO MORE RE-STOCK when i do an online chat with the LV customer service personnel. If it pops up in the website, it maybe someone returning it or some stock left behind. That's it. Thanks for ranting we need our voices to be heard 😂🤗💪

The card holder is adorable Sofia! They had a hot pink Rosalie wallet but I didn’t like that it was all pink on the outside. In terms of the capucines I liked the light blue one with the fun LV on the front but it was wayyyy too small! And Im waiting for my Birkin 25 and light blue was a color option I gave my SA so I wouldn’t want to have two light blue hand held bags. I prefer the white over the black background so I like the side trunk. It’s one of the only bags I liked as I don’t love vachetta, although the Alma was cute. The side trunk in the white leather is beautiful and perfect for your climate as it would be only a spring summer bag for me when I wear light colors. If they had had a speedy 20 (the 25 is so big for me) in the white canvas I would’ve tried to get one ( less vachetta than the Alma) And really Sofia you dont need to be grateful for pieces you paid for. I do agree that it shouldn’t have been a big deal to make white boxes and dust bags for all these bags for people who are paying for them. Amd more stock would have likely upped their sales if they had been more available. Don’t sell stock you don’t have. That’s not ok. When I order a piece from Chanel or Hermes I get them. I agree with you on that for sure. My store got some pieces for anyone wanting to go wait in line on the day of the launch, but it wasnt that important to me. I love both your bags though and I hope you enjoy using them!

@ so true Sofia! My husband surprised me with a mini Constance a couple months ago and the store had run out of proper bags and my SA had to use a regular unmarked white bag. My SA made him go back a couple days later to get the appropriate Hermes nice orange bag because she felt so bad she didn’t have one to package up the box appropriately when he bought it. Despite all we hear (although I have never personally had a bad experience at Hermes) they do try to make every piece feel like a luxury experience.

When this collection first came out, I had found the black barrel bag and the Alma bag in white on the preloved market. I was so disappointed in the quality and found the bows made these bags look cheap. After seeing the market flooded with knockoffs, I tried selling them on consignment, to no avail. My theory was no one wanted them because they were everywhere. I ended up just giving them away.

I felt this collection wasn’t close enough to the OG. We wanted another chance to buy those bags new! Ppl didn’t take care of their bags and the leather is absolutely destroyed on so many vintage bags. They could’ve done a revival and then a whole new collection. Beautiful pieces. It sure was a cluster. I managed to get the perfume(beautiful bottle) the 6 am slides(too wide) and the notebook(still pending). I think Louis Vuitton is having issues not just with this. I also order the alien bag charm which is not murikami. Still pending this is week 2. Supposedly coming week of 2/1. Hi Sofia, I am probably in the minority here, this collection does absolutely nothing for me. Lol. That being said, the sidetrunk is nice. And love that sweater on you. Totally agree about the packaging and much of what you're saying. When you buy "luxury" you should get the full experience, period. No exceptions. No playing favorites. Its disrespectful and tone deaf to the general public. Leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. If a brand only cares about selling to a certain sector, why allow these continual subpar purchasing experiences to the general public at all. Focus on your clientele and stop wasting the time, energy, and resources on crappy production and service. Why does the public fall all over themselves to be treated with such disrespect? No wonder the mid range brands are having such a popularity surge. Better quality and service is always chic and needs to be brought back or the luxury world is going to continue to implode.

What a wasted opportunity for LV. Like you said - this was a way to bring milllenials (who couldnt afford the original collab pieces) back to the brand. Not to mention if there was more stock, their sales would have been huge. I had my eye on the collection but nothing excited me. Also might have been better for them to start with cherries or cherry blossom to create momentum towards the multicolor. I wonder how this mess up will reflect in the coming releases. Also saw that Coach just re-released their cherry collection 🤭

I don't think brands should send PR for such highly limited edition collections like this, exactly for the reasons you stated. The collection would have sold out regardless of if they gave out free bags are not and in a case like this I actually feel it cheapens the product? Like if it's so valuable and rare what are they doing giving it away as PR? I actually remember a co-worker of mine getting one of the original Murakami bags - it was really exciting the first time around, this relaunch sounds very dissapointing!

When I think about luxury I’m thinking about the QUALITY of product, PACKAGING and the overall CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE .
