So beautiful. Another masterpiece by Whitacre. And talking about masterpieces, your work is mesmerizing. Hope to see you in Portugal someday. ❤

Thank you so much for this stellar performance of this beast of a piece! Fun fact, I've heard countless time the "official" recording from the Whitacre Singers from Water Night, and never realized their tenors "messed up" the interval bar 103 (then went up a fourth instead of a minor 3rd), 8:04 in your recording here, you made me realize that ! So a very specific thank you 😁

I'm not a christian, but, to see art made of something that can be as raw and humane as the bible, I appreciate it as an artist myself. Such a moving piece, and I have to say, this is one of my favorite performances of it... The acoustics of that place are amazing!

So im not religious, but i have read the bible. This story always got to me, as I always knew King David mustve felt incredible grief at being betrated by his own son, and then finding out he was killed. When I first heard this song, especially the part at 10:20 and above, it really made my heart fill with tears and feel that grief. Beautifully done. Thanks for this

Beautiful- so touching- I can feel the grief & pain of David. A masterpiece! I’ve listened to a few choral groups singing this song. Your group is definitely a favorite of mine. It touched my heart. 💜

Whiteacre is fashionable, but his music seems not to be more appropriate then the excellent versions by Renaissance and Baroque composers.

he's just more modern and original

@@_gigi_1143 Choral music seems to have remained in the 1960s. Modern is hardly the word.

This recording is a disaster. During the louder more percussive parts, you can hear the waving sine-wave of oversaturating the mics. Sounds horrible.
