:"War Games" was a movie where a teen accidentally hacked into a computer controlling NORAD. Hey was using an acoustic coupler connected to the phone to connect to the computer. That random digital static sound is what it sounds like when you have a computer (or a fax machine) on the other end of a call.

If you were a teenager in the '80s, you instantly recognized that movie. I really feel old when I see people missing this reference.

Yes that actor Jamie does a great job in this show I'll explain later lol

I believe Owen mentioned in the beginning of the episode…Nina is the name of the tank they use with eleven, the sensory deprivation tank, but fitted with computer screens that played the tapes of what happened in the lab.

There are a lot of nods to horror in this season. The casting of Robert Englund of course the obvious one. But one thing hardly anyone picks up is the prominent Rose on the door to Creel’s house which is a clear nod to Stephen King, as anyone who has read his works, especially anything connected to his Dark Tower series will know/

The scene where Nancy and Robin go to question Creel definitely feels like an homage to Clarice Starling going to talk to Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs.

Grear reaction video, Sofie! I can't wait until you see how the remainder of the season plays out.

That Papa is still alive was already said last season. When 11 and 8 tracked down the man who had tormented the girls together. He said that Papa was still alive. Jane was not deceived either. The doc enlightened her last episode and gave her a choice. The only thing he didn't say was that Papa was involved. But that doesn't change the fact that she has to go the way.

I think it very much was a betrayal of trust to not reveal that Dr. Brenner was heading up the project. El thought Owen was in charge and did not think she'd be returned to the manipulative nightmare of Dr. Brenner. It's a plot hole I think - Owen had to known about Brenner's history with her, and Hopper must have shared info too, and Owen must have known that El was trying to get away from Brenner. My only consoling thought is that Brenner kept Owen in the dark SOMEHOW(?) so he could convince her to get her back in the lab. Owen was very much about it all being her voluntary decision until the end.

@@RonaldOffTheRecord the thing is she might have not accepted is she knew straight from the jump and for as much as owen cares about el, he knows she's the only one who can combat the evil just as he knows brenner is the only one who can help her get back her powers so he's struck between a rock and a hard place if she doesn't get her powers back everyone is f'd

Yes but we never know if that guy was just lying to try and save his own life or if he was telling the truth about Papa being alive so it leaves it kind of open to the imagination add him not telling her that Papa was alive was kind of a betrayal of trust but he had to do it because he had she known he was the one that was going to help her she probably would have said no so he kind of kept it a secret on purpose to make sure she said yes

I think Nancy is feeling bad for not giving Steve a big enough chance because she was so upset over Barb and blaming him and her for that situation and finding a connection with Jonathan I'm falling in love with him instead so I think seeing how Steve turned out that he wasn't that bad of a guy and she was always attracted to him and since her and Jonathan are so far apart and they're acting a little distant with each other and she doesn't know why she's starting to get those old feelings back for Steve, and of course he never stopped loving her

Papa is the cause of nearly every problem in Stranger Things. He was not a “necessary evil”, he was just evil.
