It's so frustrating that suddenly writers decide to forget about all the development that Damon had as a character in order to do more drama in these episodes. Same with Katherine. All their development was thrown out the window... Also, I woudn't say it was predictable for Damon to act like that. Not at this point in the series. In my opinion, such words could significantly cut his wings, because they showed that despite the way he has behaved recently, despite the fact that he has changed, others still think that bad behavior is like his dominant feature and that is what they expect from him. That they expect him to be bad. He change a lot since the first season. He obviously still have a lot things to work on, but we can't deny the development in him that already happened. He lets his emotions get the best of him and even tho he knows what he is doing by letting people to see just bad from him and not expecting good side (he explain it in motel scene to Elena), he still is controlled by others. Like now bc breakup with Elena. He showed before that he can be good or selfless in situation that has nothing to do with her (for example Rose), but lately he tried to be better mostly bc of their relationship and he didn't want to change her to worse. He could get crazy a little in these episodes, but doing the whole cirle and making him act like he didn't developed at all it just don't have a sense and is not enough realistic in my eyes.

I Know I am Late also I Know that there are a lot of people out there that say that damon Was, is and will always be Bad. Yes He does a lot of awful Things if He is hart but they didn't really screw up with this Story because I realized that damon online killed Aaron but the Rest was all enzo. Damon didn't attack jeremy. He just let it Happen. I think He wants to be Bad because everybody even "elena" who believed He can be bitter like this toll him that He is Bad. But I think at this point it is more prentending because He did change. Just my opinion

The way I understood the thing about passing through Bonnie is that you can only pass when you're ready to find peace. So maybe Bonnie just thinks that Katherine is somewhere on the other side looking for her peace or something. I mean she did see her on the other side for a moment so maybe that's why she is not suspicious

I have a quetion why do all people compare how a vampire is good or bad according to human standards, I mean a vampire killing human isn't wrong, do you ever quetion a lion when it kills an animal?

Finally someone who understands this show ٫I don’t judge them by how many humans they’ve killed in the past or they’re gonna kill in the future and I really respect them that they even try to be better cause killing humans is in their nature so the fact that they even try to be better makes them good vampires in my opinion but I choose my favourites du to how they are towards their loved ones and who they are as a person in general ( their personality,their way of thinking ,the journey that they had as a character,etc...)

There is a flaw in this logic. If they are not to be judged as humans, then they are not to be treated as humans as well. If someone is wrong to hold them accountable, because that someone believes they deserve it, that means someone else is wrong to love them as people. Because otherwise, it's like treating them as humans all the time and in regards to everything, just to go back on it every time they screw up. And you can't have it both ways. If they are truly only animals and should be held to those standards, then they should be treated accordingly by the human characters. Humans should lock them up for science just like doctor Wes did.They should never be human's friends, lovers, or family.

@@mahamoon1917 I think who they are as a person isn't shown through how they treat their loved ones. It is shown through how they treat others. Because every monster, every killer, every evil character in fiction (or outside of it) has somebody they care for. That doesn't make them good, or bad, or anything. And if vampires shouldn't be judged as humans, then they shouldn't be treated as humans as well. Humans should lock them up for science just like doctor Wes did.

@@moni4369 its more complicated than that if you wanna get deep , Killing humans is in their nature but what makes them different than a lion is that they used to be humans so they still have humanity ,that’s why being a vampire in this universe is like a curse , they want to kill but at the same time they don’t wanna because they feel guilty after ward because of their humanity so they are not completely monster to be treated like one but also not completely human to be judged by human standard ,they are something in a middle and that’s how they should be treated as different creature not completely monster but not human either

@@mahamoon1917 If they feel bad after killing humans that means they hold themselves accountable. And if they hold themselves accountable, that means other humans have a right to pose judgement on them as well, for the exact same reasons they do it to themselves. But okay. I see where you're coming from, so I'll run with it. The problem is that the idea of a unique standard just for vampires can't really be applied. Because what does that standard say? That vampires are good when they don't kill and just as good when they do? That puts them on a very high pedestal, above anything and everything, almost like gods. They are too bad to exist amongst humans without casualties, but at the same time too good to ever be held accountable. What are their flaws according to the unique vampire standard? If being a killer is not a flaw, and being a merciful soft-hearted marshmallow is not a flaw either, then what is? Nothing. They have no flaws. They are perfect, not allowed to be anything less, and no rules apply to them. And sadly that just makes them impossible to connect to, because they seem more like a hollow idea of perfection and less like a person who makes mistakes.

Gosh. I don’t like the love triangle being about rehabilitating Damon with Elena and Stefan not getting anything out of it except for being nice people. I mean, Elena constantly says she’s in love with Damon, they apparently have great s*x, and in terms of showing what they have in common and how they support one another in a romantic relationship, it sucks lol. It just sucks! Elena says that this is a bad decision but she loves him anyway. He challenges her, but frankly so did Stefan and so does Klaus on the other extreme lol. But the important thing is: Elena makes Damon a better person. Ok. And then Stefan is just happy that his brother is a better person, even though his brother for example made out with the love of Stefan’s life like an hour after Stefan risked his life to save Damon’s. And Elena fell out of love with Stefan, with whom she has so much more in common and who actually supported and generally tried to communicate with her because… I guess the sire bond, because turning into a vampire should have enhanced emotions for both Damon and Stefan, but her romantic feelings for Stefan dissolved almost immediately after years of fierce dedication. Elena didn’t seem to change much as a vampire in spite of people saying she did. I’m glad I stopped regularly watching the show before this point. Because this makes no sense and doesn’t portray the already inherently problematic relationship between an old vampire and a teenage girl but of an old somewhat evil vampire and the brother of her lover and a teenage girl? But it’s portrayed as more important and “ intense” than a surprisingly healthy relationship considering?

I agree! I always liked Stefan but s5 made me LOVE him. There’s something about his character that changed for the better. He literally became my top 1 fave character alongside caroline.
