When i was 20, she came to Taiwan to promote her first album published in Taiwan and i bought it, this song was collected in this album, since that time( almost 26 years ago), i became her big big big fan, i think she was the best singer in Asia cause she could sing all kinds of songs, her emotions in the songs and the skill she used, which were all so great, i know you like Hua Chen Yu's songs too, hahaha, cuase i am his fan too, loved your reaction, this song reminded me of so many things... subscribed already...

Great thing about Regine is that she NEVER lip syncs. She had one concert where she literally lost her voice and could barely sing. She still gave it a go but it was too much. She tearfully apologized to the crowd and promised them another concert for free. That is exactly what happened a few months later. While she is incredibly talented and dedicated to her fans, what makes her truly special is her humility and kindness. A down to earth and wonderful person.

Thinking back at her generation, it's absolutely mindboggling how much talent there was locally and abroad. In the US, there was Whitney, Mariah, Celine, and even Barbara was still kicking ass. In the Philippines, there was the vocal trinity of Regine, Lani, and Jaya. Incredible raw talent back in the day.

Hi SoFie, glad you finally got round to reacting to Regine. That Twenty Concert Performance blows everyone who sees it away. She is Asia's Songbird! The Queen of Filipino singers. The one that Morisette, Sarah G, Katrina Velarde all the Filipino singers look up to. If you liked that performance. You should definitely check out Regine Velasquez - Piece Of Sky (Highest Version) Barbra Streisand. This is a old video too. So the video quality isn't all that great. But the vocals are exceptional here as well. Piece Of Sky is from Barbra Streisand's musical movie 'Yentl'. Regine is a big fan of Barbra Streisand, and dedicated this concert to her.

I remember this was the 2nd night of her concert and wasnt fully 100% well. She was rushed to the hospital after of dehydration and fatigue. She was groomed by her parents musically starting at an early age. But her Dad was the biggest influence to her musical training of the dynamics, techniques and vocal control aspect. Her Dad used to let herself submerged in water, started from waist or belly during the earlier days and eventually going deeper up until like the neck on the latter part of her training while singing a song, She started singing at 6 yrs old, joined contests but wasnt really fortunate to win, At 14, from Southern Leyte, her whole family moved to Bulacan, ouside the capital , Manila. She had competed in a very tough nationwide televised singing competion, Ang Bagong Kampeon ( "The New Champion" ), which she defended her reign for record weeks.The all they say, the rest is history... A great song! This came from her 1994 album Listen Without Prejudice and this cover quickly become one of her many many signature songs! She would perform it years later as you can see (unsure what year exactly) and it sounds just as much as her original take on it. Beautiful emotional interpretation of the lyrics! Storytellers, take note! Thats how you sing a song!
