Such a rarely adequate review! You mentioned all things that are needed and skipped by other people, especially time before light becomes loose its brightness on each mode. Thats really essential! So i can see that turbo mode can be used up to 2 minutes before dimming, high mode on spot - 6 min and on flood - 10 min, and medium mode - without limits. Your accent sounds like you are russian-speaking, arent you?

Great review Richard and way to go with the output graph data. Real numbers are great and Sofirn should give you a 100 flashlights and put your runtime data into their manual. They saved employee and testing equipment expenses by what you did. It's time to replace my headlamp as it's falling apart and this Sofirn caught my attention with it's more professional and compact build, but confused me at first over the variance in "throw" beams. I like how the SFT40 looks in photography with greater contrast over the XHP50.2 being a little washed out in color, but I also don't particularly care for the "spot" in the SFT40's throw. I prefer the wider even dispersion or at least soft transition to a brighter center for throw. Most of what I need a headlamp for is working with my hands on job sites, reading tape measures, cutting something, or looking out a few meters from time to time. Flood seems more practical over throw, but from time to time I may want to use the throw for far reach viewing. Thanks for the review on this model's configuration. Very professional delivery. In exact temp terms how hot does it get by Inter grated levels I had a 450lumens flood True Tone and didn’t got hot both spot / and flood were on for 2hrs none stop would this get more than 96°F one Milwaukee handheld went to 1100 lumens and got around 103°F it was way to hot to keep holding after 15mins and how about this one you mention weight in the head? How long it last in max high not turbo mode both and single on , and recharge time ? Looks pretty bright and far

This headlight has temperature control, so it all depends for what you will use it. If you will use it for running or cycling it will be cooler as wind will cool it. In my usage (mostly walking dog, filming at night, getting all photo gear ready) it was enough on mid mode and did not get hot. Also head attachment is quite thick so you wont feel much heat from flashlight that way. Also I rarely use this flashlight on full power. This is more a work, camping, walking light for me. As how long it will last on high mode it also depends on where you will use it. If ambient temp is low and you will use it outside with wind blowing into it, it will last less but will be brighter. Just like you said in video, not much of a difference between two beams, I kind of thought this would be the case initially when you showed the front of the headlamp. Weird choice by sofirn. I wonder if going with an XHP-35 and smooth reflector would've been better for throw.

I guess hxp50.2 was for power, sft40 would be enough for throw

It's rather very close distance spill and short to medium range spill. The samsung led is perfect for creating a nice uniform spill even at 1 meter. Which is perfect for doing sometbing with your hands like repairing, setting a camp or lighting your tent. The xhp50 is just enough for comfortably walking around and lighting up those 10-30 meters ahead. I would never rely on a headlight to sort out task as throwing. It's just not practical for that type of use in such a small body. It would overheat too quick. There is plenty of pocketable throwers which cover with ease the 100-200 meters of range. Just get one of them in addition to the headlight.
