This is one of my favorite videos you’ve done. Sinularia and lobophytum are at the top of my list of favorite corals and they’re so under appreciated in the reef hobby.

Nice smooth under water footage. I love seeing a forest of natural coral. All of my footage from free diving to view coral is so shaky it’s like an enchanting world on way too much caffeine lol. Never had the experience of coral being so close to the surface you can just snorkel like that

Great video! Loved seeing all the softies, can't wait for the sps. I had a really nice acro from the Solomon Islands I lost more then 10 years ago I still think about. Hope we see corals from here back in North America soon.

Simply wow! Would love to snorkel there! That softie-garden amazing. I love em too, have some dif.species in my mixed reef - at night with only royal light - stunners, golden shiny nearly like a good ol golden torch. Awesome video Jake!

Only an hour snorkeling? I'm usually in there for several hours (4-5) before I realize how much time has gone by. You're a better man than me. :D Great quality vids though, have to say. Good stuff. Following this.

Jake, could you please get a par reading on that millepora for us? Look at the shading around it from surface agitation?

the sun is roughly 2200 umols/m2/s at the equator at noon at sea level - I'd say in three feet of water its still right around 1200-1500 umols, but hard to measure due to all the lensing by the waves which causes higher peaks

Come on Jake, softies don’t shine they are brown and boring as your vlog showed - this was proved by the only colour in the piece being a long tentacled anemone and the monti’s and milli’s. Only a marine biologist can see the beauty in softies 😂🤣
