Love what you taught here but I want to add, tangentially related to flukes; I'm a pond angler primarily, no boat, but even when I get out on a lake the one fluke-like bait that PRODUCES sizable bass for me is the KVD Caffeine shad in KVD Magic. I'm not an old angler by any means, less than 5 years under my belt, but that thing kills for good largemouth. Current PB caught on that, 4lbs largemouth on a 0.3acre public park pond.

Thanks for more great info. You turned me onto soft jerkbaits in one of your past videos and it has become my go-to bait for big northern river smallmouth. Combine that with a senko rigged wacky for a flow-up bait and it’s a combination that’s hard to beat. I think your remiss in not including the KVD Caffeine Shad on your list. I think the Caffeine Shad is hard to beat for effectiveness and durability. I have been using the Owner Twistlock hooks for the 5” Caffeine Shad which also improves durability. I agree nose hooking the Super Fluke is the most effective for catching fish. I use swivels of different sizes to help adjust fishing depth and action, and reduce line twist. Thanks again for all the great info!

I've had real good luck tying my donkey-rig using a third fluke without a hook in it. In our area it's illegal to fish with more than two hooks on a lure of this type. I use one of those screw-lock thingys and simply secure the third fluke onto my topmost swivel. It makes it look like a small school of three baitfish with the two rear-most flukes being targeted by the bass. On rare occasions I've gotten two hits at a time but for some reason that second hit always seems to be able to spit the hook before I can reel it in.
