The Softs sowing the seeds of jazz /fusion and prog /rock . True visionaries , inventive , original and years ahead of their time . One of the great bands .

Nop, miles Davis did it with In a Silent Way Album, and the Weather Report band too' this two bands are the pioneers of jazz rock, and they I fluenced all the psichodelic bands.

I guess we see why The Floyd made it and they didn’t. I forget whether it was Page, Beck or Townsend who said something like, “Some of that improvisational psychedelic stuff was absolute crap. I won’t say their names. The Syd-led Floyd wasn’t.”

How wrong they were though... this is amazing, Soft Machine were just as amazing as PF... except guitarist Daevid Allen left before this gig (visa issues), and bassist Kevin Ayers left not long after they released their first album...

Well you are incredibly wrong. They became jazz fusion and became one of the top bands from that genre
