How long do you let the plastic cool in the mold before you open it?

It varies in time. The hotter your mold gets the time it takes for the plastic to set up increases. A fresh cool mold around the 1 minute mark. As it gets hot it can be several minutes before you can open it. And there are several other techniques to keep your mold temp regulated so you won't have to wait as long.
