Dude this actually helped me so much. The MyVW app had stopped connecting and updating, as a result I couldn't use any of the features like locking my doors and stuff from my phone because the car wasn't connected. Held the button for 10 seconds like you said. And now everything is working again

Yeah, they do some bug fix updates, tell your ex, to always accept updates that come from the factory.

The volume wouldn't work on my 2023 TAOS. It was on "mute" and would allow me to adjust the volume. I even tried to correct the issue from the settings screen and nothing worked until I tried the rest. This seems like a common issue. VW needs to do something about it

Hi Brandon....Great Info!! However, how long should it take for the infotainment system to come on...not from a re-boot, from just starting the car on an everyday occurrence. I do have Satellite Radio and I have noticed that it takes about 1 - 2 full minutes to boot up all of my radio stations. And don't try to connect your phone during this time because then it will throw the car out of wack!! But then (thanks to you) all I have to do is do a re-boot! I just don't want to always have to do a re-boot every single day!! Have you heard of this happening? I have a 2021 Atlas Cross Sport R-Line...if that makes a difference.

I have to do this almost every other day. The XM channels don't always show up and sometimes apple car play doesn't even load up or is not functional. I don't understand why there are so many issues with these infotainment systems - they should really fix this.

apple CarPlay is seriously messed up in regards to gps. I'm hoping this fixes it. I have read online its the fault of CarPlay utilizing the built in gps of the car and throwing way off. When the phone is not connected gps works just fine.

So, what would you do if this didn't fix the problem? I have had issues over the past month or so where i would plug in my phone to my 2018 Tiguan SEL and everything worked, but the volume was stuck on mute. I disconnected and reconnected the phone and the problem goes away. Suddenly today, when I plug in my iPhone 13 Pro Max, it's just a black screen. I tried the soft reset like you suggested in this video and everything seems to go well (hear the fan kick on and all that), but still comes up with a black screen, but only for CarPlay (media, phone, etc work fine). I just got done updating my iphone to ios 16.02 thinking that may fix it, but no luck. I even went as far as factory resetting my head unit...still nothing. i'm going crazy here!! what else can i try?

Well, disregard. I was able to figure it out. Can't really explain it, but it's happening because of a VPN connection on the phone. As soon as I disconnect the VPN, everything works. turn it back on...black screen again. it's the weirdest thing. It has to be something with iOS 16 though, as the problem started after the update. Just thought I would add this in case it helps someone else in the future.
