You really change my mind. I’m so into becoming a software engineer before but now after I watched this video...I think I’m going to focus more on being QA tester hmm thank you! ^^

QA is really important before delivery.

Very Informative buddy, How’s the stress levels of each role? In my experience QA is less stressful than being a SD. Whats your take on it? Thanks and keep hustling.
@fintelics4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Rimaz, this is a great question but also a very tough one to give a straight answer because the stress levels really depend on the personality of the person vs the responsibilities of the role If there is an issue with the end product the QA may have to deal with the stress of the developers blaming them for not catching the issue But the QA could also put the blame on the developer for developing a faulty product in the first place

QA Engineers do troubleshooting and find solutions for existing issues, they don't usually do bug retests or test plans since those are done by Testers.

Quality is everyone's job, so we usually prefer the term "Tester" which you use periodically. We are not "QAs"

I'm doing a bootcamp to hopefully become a full-stack developer, I'm currently working in a roll as a quality assesor in a completely different industry, so seeing that I'm in quality, it advisable to start off as a QA and then make the transition to a Full-stack dev or go straight looking for a full-stack dev from the get go?

Hey I’m also in a boot camp, Cydeo to be exact. Did you get a job yet?

I'm in QA now and have been told by mentors and other developers to get into dev asap if that's what I want to do. It's easy to get "stuck" in a QA role, but I have learned a lot and that has helped me as a developer when writing code for personal projects. How did the bootcamp turn out? I did the FlatIron school...

@@QueenSonora I just looked up flatiron and I see it is a BootCamp. How soon after you finished the BootCamp did you get a job if you don't mind me asking?
@QueenSonora3 жыл бұрын
@@nick-yr7wu I had started applying for work 2 months before I finished FlatIron, so immediately after I finished, I started a training program for my current company. It was another bootcamp for software engineering, but since I'm in consulting my role can shift depending on the project. They "didn't have" SE roles when I onboarded so that's how I ended up in QA. :)

@@QueenSonora Okay gotcha, thanks :). I am currently in a BootCamp for software automation testing and I finish in May. I'm going to do what you did and apply 2 months before I finish 🤣

I know that it's been 2 years, but it may help others in the future. I've been working as a QA for 12 years now., and I'm from Brazil, My experiences are all from the Brazilian market. You have a different mindset for being a QA and developer. If you like to build stuff, you should try being a developer. If you like to break stuff, and find the week spots on stuff, you should try being a QA. As a QA, we face different challenges, such as: - If the company decides to downsize, they will prefer to keep the developer, and fire the QA (we can create new projects only with a developer, but not only with a QA - you will lose quality, but you will be able to deliver new features) - Most of the time, the QA is devalued when compared to a developer, in terms of payment (I worked in a company where the developer got paid a thousand bucks more than me - both in the same level of experience) - When the client finds a bug, we are the first to be questioned about it (Why didn't the QA find this bug?) - When the client is super happy and satisfied with their software, nobody thanks the QA. It's our job to prevent bugs in production. - You will have to keep learning new stuff since technology is always evolving. Every day people create a new test framework, a new methodology, a new programming language, started with desktop apps, then changed to web apps, now it's all mobile apps, etc. Same thing for a developer. But working as a QA is really great. Knowing that the clients are happy and satisfied with the software you've tested is awesome! It makes you really proud. PS.: I would love to work as a developer as well.

Are there any QA roles that don’t require coding?
@dx87072 жыл бұрын
@Calisthenics Apprentice software QA engineer or web developer which is more easy?? I think QA is easy because quality assurance engineer do not need to codling like developer or do not logical coding. I can not use my brain. Please suggest me which is easy for me QA engineer or web developer. i just practice html, css but when I move to javascript I can not think logically and implement in code. Forgive me for my poor English
