"AI" isn't going to replace all developer, programming or software engineer jobs. Devin is not an "AI Software Engineer" at all, much less the first one.
But "AI" is destroying developer jobs in another way. It's making it almost impossible for competent software engineers to have their resumes seen by hiring managers by flooding all the programming job postings with ChatPGT-generated spam cover letters and auto-submitted resumes with buzzwords added to match the job posting list. And it's doing that hundreds of times an hour.
You can't beat the "AI" at job postings, so the best thing to do is go back to the old ways. At least until the industry figures out how to get around the job posting nightmare AI has created for us.
Let me tell you how we used to do it, and what I'm guessing we'll fall back on for the time being, and I'll give you some advice from someone who has been doing this a long time.

NOTE: (Not that anyone will read this, but) When this video uses the term "AI." it (like most of the current discourse these days) means current and near future "Generative AI" a.k.a. Large Language Models. If you're thinking about the Agents from the Matrix or the Robots from Terminator, that's DIFFERENT. That's the OTHER AI, the Human-Intelligence General AI, Sometimes called "AGI." That DOES NOT EXIST. For the time being it's PURE FICTION. It may get here soon, although I (and a lot of people smarter than me) seriously doubt it, but we'll see.
