the light bulb is flickering also, maybe just in camera but it gives it more life and matches the vibe. your studio looks amazing.

yeah it is intentional it has like a fire effect to simulate the natural flickering

Thanks, after watching this, I think I'm gonna try out Plasticity, I've been working on some complex hard surface assets, it took a while to figure out how the shape and the topology should be inside Maya, but with plasticity, I'd be more creative and have more control over the mesh and do whatever I want with it, and basically export it back to Maya for retopo, this will definitely save me a lot of time and work. I wish i knew this before! GL and HF creating everybody!

Gaea is incredible I was realizing my focus was more geared toward environment art and like Abe said it’s not crazy expensive like $99 for an indie license and the community around it is amazing!

I've been super impressed with the new Marmoset features in the latest release! And their RT rendering is super good. They finally introduced a subscription model with the latest version, so if you don't need it all the time like me, you can get it for a month for $18 and render out a bunch of stuff. Love that they still have a perpetual option too!
@AbeLeal3DКүн бұрын
i totally agree! Marmoset has been one of my favorite softwares to work with for several years now. definitely worth it!

Marvelous Designer is also a great one for clothing. Especially compared to Blender, where clothing is a nightmare.
@AbeLeal3DКүн бұрын
yeah definitely i debated wether to include it or not since i feel it is definitely mainstream nowadays

Very good and educating video, alot of people have a misconseption of using mainstream software just because they are "industry standard" but there are alot of good software out there which can elevate out work when we are in the learning stage. Great video

i consider those "mainstream" softwares, everyone knows about them and they are a very common pick when getting into 3D , they are excellent, but i wanted to share some other softwares as well other than those
