Becky, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and still here. This is my favorite KZbin channel and when you said you were from Pittsburgh I was like heyyyyy. I'm 28 and working on my recovery. I have a fair amount of sobriety in my 20s so far. It's definitely a struggle, but there's a really good recovery community and a lot of meetings in Pittsburgh if you ever choose to come back. Nothing better than sober friends. Regardless of where you are, you can do this if you want it. It can be difficult, but it's worth it. I can tell you have a huge heart and will be able to help a lot of people. Sending you love and hope from the 412.

Everyone deserves love and respect, we are all flesh and blood our only differences are attitudes and money. I have learned a lot about myself and my thought process from watching this channel and the last few years have changed my perspective and I closed my mind and my heart during Covid, since finding this channel I’ve opened my mind and my heart again and rediscovered my humanity. I think we all need to be reminded now and again that life is worth living and there are others who deserve our compassion and recognition.

Becky! If you see this, you are worth it! I can see your soul and you remind me so much of me. I was fortunate enough to only have a 2 year affair with the really hard drugs but I also had a really amazing support system. I think that there meetings that could help you to l the most would be CODA. I think your core issue is codependency. You said it. You help EVERYONE else before you. I struggle with that same core issue and learning about that has helped me find self love and take the self care that I need. I hope you can get the help you need.

I’ve walked this. Choices brought me in - choices took me out. This only happened after I was sick of my own excuses, and was tired of acting out what I resented others for having done to me in the past. Choose to be better than what made you originally decide to give up. The alternative is a Hell before the mercy of death. Life begins with learning to love yourself. This woman can love herself when she’s ready - not before. I love her, because I love people. However, that’s not enough. The clock can be an impatient debt collector - I hope she beats it.

Parents do so much damage to their kid's relationship to food. I had severe dysmorphia due to being called fat, & eventually became anorexia. Girl, we all make bad decisions sometimes. Reality is, if you hadn’t done the drugs you might have never met the love of your life. Our experiences and choices make us who we are, good or bad. You can also choose to live differently. You are worth much more than this and you have so much good life ahead of you. Go to rehab, work the program, face your demons and deal with your shit. You can find your peace and have a better life.

Go back to your father. He clearly loves you more than he is disappointed in you. You’re kind, you’re intelligent, go back and make a plan with him and try as hard as you can to make it. Even if you fall back down, get up and don’t hate yourself. You have support, get better and become someone who helps others transition to being sober, I feel like you would absolutely rock at doing that.

I went 3 years without talking to my father because i was using drugs and was ashamed. we also had an argument over money i felt was owed to me (child support he didnt pay that my mother told me about) while i was struggling to make it on my own. After 3 years of zero contact and lots of drug use i got a phone call from my grandmother (My dads mom) that my father had shot himself and was no longer with us. It broke me. Get back to your father Becky. Please dont make the same mistake i did. Im 2 years clean now and everyday i wish he could have gotten the chance to see me get better. I loved my father more than life itself. I miss him dearly. You can do this Becky. Your father loves you and has been waiting for you this whole time. God bless.

Becky, you are breaking my heart and my soul. You sound exactly the way I was. My whole childhood was the exact same, no issues, had everything, and I still for some ungodly reason chose at 26 years old, after having my 2 beautiful babies, not drinking, not even smoking weed, I became depressed, and jumped at the feeling of feeling nothing at all. I have now been on and off opiates for 12 or 13 years. I am now 8 months clean again off of fentynal and meth. I almost lost the love of my life this past December to a heart attack, pneumonia, and a blood infection, all because he wasn't ready yet. I'm sorry you lost the love of your life, I know it hurts. I have been with mine 11 years on and off all through our addiction. I left 2 1/2 years ago to get me, myself clean and worry about me finally. I got clean and was clean almost 15 months. My fiance wasn't ready then either. Then he finally was and we did good again for months, and then we fell, but the difference was this time was that I wanted it still. I left and he stayed on the streets again and that's when he almost died. I remember getting that call that day, to come say good bye to him. I fell to my knees and the heart wrenching feeling was too much too handle. He was in a coma, and we were told he couldn't breath on his own, and his temperature of almost 107 wouldn't come down. We stood by his bed for days, and he miraculously woke up. Since then he hasn't touched anything, he started therapy, medication for his mental health, and actually dealing with his own issues. Please get help, you are an amazing soul and remind me so much of myself. We were not made for this life. No one was or is, but you have such a BIG heart, and you can tell you don't want this life anymore. I think you just don't know where or how or why you would want to get and stay clean. Please reach out to Mark and ask him for real help, he has helped so many people. You are loved and probably very very missed by so many. Please call your dad and say hello, tell him you love him. I know I can't make you want to get clean, that is up to you, but please please please do it for yourself out of anyone in your life. I can tell you want this, I can feel you want this. If you need anyone to talk to and you happen to see this please feel free to reach out. I know I'm in Canada and your out in L.A. but I can and will be there to listen and help in anyway I possible can. ❤

Some give some take … you are a giver; and for that you special AF … I adore you ❤ “you have to believe in yourself …” quote taken from my dear sister, Becky. Ask your love in Heaven, to intervene and send you to safety & inspire others. You gave this old timer; a boost of hope.

Becky, you're doing it. You are indeed smart, just based on this you shared things folks spend lifetime learning. I mean, I get it, it took a lifetime for you but you're implementing and acknowledging it all and that is huge! The hardest aspect of every day is to keep moving even when it's so challenging and to pat yourself on the back everyday you do. Thank you for sharing ❤

Look after your teeth people. Never miss a brushing no matter what - especially at night. No toothpaste? Brush anyway and swish. Use a cloth. Whatever you need to do because you do not want to have your lips falling in to your throat. You will suffer bone loss- not just tooth loss and that’s why it looks so awful. It causes disease, horrible odour, problems with proper nutrition (fresh, raw veg) and don’t drink sugar drinks. Being an addict does not have to mean poor dental hygiene. It’s more important than you think.

Becky is a smart genuine person who knows herself very well. I hope and pray that Becky can forgive herself and get back to her family, I also pray that her family can show her some compassion, love and forgiveness. No one sets out to be homeless or an addict, we all crave love and acceptance and sometimes that what we seek is the downfall because of the company we keep. Life is a jumble of circumstance and choices. Becky I send you love, I wish I could send you more than that but for now good vibes and love🥰

Praying for you Becky. My daughter has been homeless since January and now is a full blown fentanyl addict. Her family is really scared this time. But we all know she has to want the help. I’m an opiate addict also. I have been off opiates for many many many years now. But I will always have that addiction. Hang in there Becky. Btw.. it does get wet and cold here in the winter. ❤🙏🏼

Becky you are smart enough and you can do this!!! I'm 52 and just got clean June will be 3 years and I started using at 26. It's definitely not easy but I'm telling you if I can do it so can you you. I've never done heroin but I did blues and just ate them and I'm not saying I'm any better because I'm not and right now I am in the most excruciating pain I've ever been in in my life I am numb from the knee down and it's a mixture of sciatica and peripheral neuropathy but I think it's so much more than that and it literally is consuming my every thought and all I think about is if I could just take some pain pills but I know me even if I started out as prescribed I know eventually I will pop them like candy so I'm just going through it right now but I will tell you I got off of opiates from Suboxone I was on it for six months it was the easiest withdrawal and this is my story so nobody come for me in the comments please to Becky if you're able to do that I would so suggest it because my life now wouldn't be what it is if I didn't stay clean and I know that sounds cliche but it is the truth and I am sending you nothing but love and strength❤💪 and you are so right addiction does not discriminate because I have an amazing job as an office manager at a doctor's office and that's actually where my addiction began and nobody in my family did drugs or drank and my mom always used to say to me what did I do where did I go wrong and I would tell her mom and has nothing to do with you and unfortunately she passed away and never saw me get clean. Becky you sound so much like me when you talked about being compassionate and helping others I would be the first one when I have nothing so I can totally relate to your story and I definitely have compassion in my heart for you❤

@@rachelrae860 I've been subscribed to this channel for years, watching quietly from the sidelines. But as the comment section grew more and more gratuitously cruel, ignorant, bullying and just generally toxic, I finally waded in to (selectively) report and/or reply. That said, your thoughtful and kind comments caught my eye, then to have you tell part of the story behind that "good hearted woman" - it kind of hit hard. So, again, I truly wish you the best and please do keep me posted. I'm here for you, as much as that is possible on the internet.
