All the people saying that they're surprised that a stripper is so smart/charismatic/well-spoken are kind of part of the problem. Lots of them are, because strippers are human beings with variable personalities.

99% of 'Liberal,' Americans appear to envision all intelligent people are attending college, graduated & in search of employment, or, in the workforce with degrees. I look back 50 years, seeing myself as a young man & wondering what would I have thought of myself then, had I known the people of the world today. It's quite sad & simple...I would not want to grow up in such a world as this. Millions of individuals with individual ideas, beliefs, needs, wants & wishes, merely trying to get the best out of this one life. Individuals who seem to think their definition of life, reality, right & wrong, is the 'Gospel.' This woman is doing what she has to do to get to where she wants to be...and she isn't hurting anyone. Wicked comment Nicole.

@Dorando Cavallacci your comment proves the battle that this commenter was speaking about. 1. You reduce the young lady in this interview to just "a stripper" 2. What does you being a Marine and guys dying have to do with the interview or the comment. 3. I come from a military family my father did tours in Kuwait during Desert Storm. My brother did 8 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan but they still get the sexism, elitism, and racism battle that our family has faced daily in this country and the military. 4. If you come back with some flippant comment then it proves that you really didn't care to be enlightened and are just here to gaslight the original commenter and diminish the value of the interviewee.

@Kenja Thomason @Yolie Remeza There's no need to shame her because she's a stripper. She recognizes that this isn't ideal, and that this is "fast money". Working a regular 9-5 wasn't practical/efficient for her situation. But she's trying to take care of herself and her daughter and that's something to be commended. She recognizes and owns the psychological damage she's experiencing as a dancer. If you watch this series, most subjects are very depressing. She's one of the lighter and more positive stories. Instead of trying to put her down, it takes zero effort to share positivity.

It’s like saying she’s black and she’s a sex worker so how could she possibly speak proper English? That job relies so much on being able to communicate and sell a fantasy so I’m just like of course they can talk?! I have worked in that industry-Most of the women I come across are educated or in the process of being educated or just your normal every day girls that are just trying to find a way for the most part. Even the ones that have their issues or rough backgrounds aren’t these babbling incoherent idiots. People just realize that sex sells and that they are attractive/have a nice body and of course capitalize on it-that doesn’t take anything away from the 12 years of education prior or any of their surroundings or upbringings before.

I stripped from 19- 27 and I have zero regrets. I do not miss it. I did not make good choices as a stripper. But I also invested heavily into my mental health and healing while I was a stripper, and I am super proud of myself for that because it allowed me to do what I do now. Now I own two businesses at 29 & am living my dream of having an influential platform online where I get to help empower women.
@umapuma2 жыл бұрын
not that I don't admire what you've accomplished, because I do, especially because you help other women and that is amazing, so your way is obviously yours for a reason. but I have a friend with the same story and same opinion, but I the stripping added up to, or followed, her sexual abuse healing journey... so in the end, I think that is a price you do pay.

I respect that honestly. I had the same situation ethically because my dad was into legal "grey" areas to make money and would constantly tell me he wanted me to walk a different path and not involve prison or anything else he experienced. Sure enough, in my 30s now I can say I know why he stressed the importance of keeping a clean criminal history, graduating high school like he almost had to force me to do when I wasn't in the right mind frame and also to avoid getting married or having kids until I'm truly ready and financially stable and never got into hardcore drugs or anything except for herb. I can't thank him enough for pushing me to succeed because I was always able to get really good jobs and have one currently and able to always get a call back and interview if looking for a different job. It makes things so much easier having been a good person and trying to be a good man and make him proud

@AshleyxDD3 жыл бұрын
@@southerngent2011 it is a man who has “low vibrations” you can meet a very creative/outgoing man or woman, you can tell they’re fun, they’re different. then you meet another man/woman that’s not that creative, not that outgoing. you can say you can tell the difference between someone who is trying to do the most, while on the other hand, some people don’t mind a mellow vibe, it feels like they just “going with the flow” type of thing you can tell the difference between a mellow person versus an outgoing person you can hangout with 100 people, and each and most of them will have different vibes that either enhance or diminish the way you feel depending on how your vibe is that day, and how you feel compared to the other people and how they feel.

And on the other hand it's nothing wrong with that. Maybe love from an intimate relationship is what her heart desires. And, because she doesn't have one, it makes her a little lonely. That doesn't take from her gratefulness or independent productivity in life. We need to stop acting like it's everything wrong with wanting love. It's not! It's everything wrong with allowing yourself to be mistreated for it, impatient to get it, and obsessive to continuously have it. As if you can't love yourself and focus on you. But, partnerships are very natural and apart of our creation. It's why God made men and women. Its also what being an adult is for. You say " people" can feel lonely for a number of reasons. That's trying to make your perception the next persons. And ignorantly generalizing the specificitiy of what her reason for being lonely might be. 😒

Nothing but admiration for her. She keeps it real the entire time, is not in denial about the negative aspects of her job which is something I don't always see. Lots of dancers I know really try and tell you that they're empowered by their job, yet they can't do it sober, they don't want their kids to follow the same path, they grow to resent and be disgusted by men, and they let the money coerce them. Meokie is honest about what drew her in and how the biz eventually preyed upon insecurities and demanded that she dissociate to get her money. I'm not surprised she's so "well-spoken", many strippers are *incredibly* intelligent (emotionally and otherwise). I think Meokie would do so well if she invested a portion of her savings and took the rest to start a business or even get her degree. The hardest thing is facing that you won't have "easy" money rolling in like you're used to, but once she's over that hurdle I think she can do anything.

One of the most likable and down to earth people you have interviewed yet. Just really solidifies once again that you can’t stereotype people doing certain jobs or wearing certain clothes. Thank you for sharing these videos. They are so so helpful to help remind us to be kind to everyone no matter their circumstances.
