The one thing I love about all of these interviews is the diversity. Pimps, prostitutes, career criminals, drug addicts, functioning drug addicts, Klan members, etc. I feel like they should show these in school. When I was a kid I was very judgmental towards people on drugs until someone very close to me became an addict. I always hear it now when people talk about it well maybe they “should’ve” or “could’ve” did this or that… some people have nobody but the drugs that they indulge in. Thanks Mark for showing us stories and humanizing people it’s really interesting, humbling, and important that you’ve taken the care to document all of these things 100% to their likeness no edits or input that would distract us from their stories.

it would be at least a 50/50 split in 2023 of which child raised on the digital screens would adopt this lifestyle and those that would reject it. Wondering if you think those are good odds. I believe her when she says this is something she wants to do. She’s 30, didn’t start until her mid 20’s, has a supportive family, has other options, etc. I support her for these reasons. Unfortunately many strippers began as teens barely out of high school and had no other choice.

To be honest I fail to see how stripping can be 'empowering' to women. All it does is objectify women's body. Women are welcome to do whatever they want and to not get judged for it, but it's not empowering, at least in my mind.
@Sickerror

They are welcome to do whatever they want, but everyone is allowed to judge them if they choose to. I guess they believe its empowering in the sense that often men objectify them when they're going about life and have no control over it, but here they get paid and choose to show off their bodies? To me it also doesn't make much sense but trying to see it from their perspective

The one common threat that I've seen with several of these stripper and sex worker interviews is that they were told by their parents that stripping and sex work was basically evil. And these jobs became forbidden fruit to them. When you do that with rebelius people, you are directly challenging them to prove YOU wrong. Also, a lot of these strippers and sex workers have said, "this lifestyle isn't for everyone, if you're not strong enough, this way of life will break a bitch".

The problem with stripping and sex work is patriarchal. It's all based around the male gaze and misogyny. With dehumanizing and degrading pornography for instance, who produces and watches this? Men. Maybe a good question would be what would the sex industry look like based on the female gaze or perspectives? The future (if we have one) needs to be feminine and empathy based. Clearly men cannot be in charge anymore as we are sitting here looking at 2 or 3 generations of humans before complete collapse. Sad world. 😔

I can totally understand it, and I have no idea why would you put gender studies (not her case) into the mix. It's obvious that going to particular places it is expected that you have some money on you. It's her time, they are taking her time, strippers aren't exactly paid per hour, so it's obvious she may be frustrated with a customer who at the end just paid the entrance and just wanted to look at some tits for free for the rest of the time and not allow the girl to earn money with someone who's actually willing to spend that money. Having been with a stripper in a relationship, from her experience it turns out that those who come with almost no money tend to be the most arrogant, condescending, and feeling-entitled kind of people. I think a side effect or a lens that some viewers of your channel may look under is a strong sentiment of sorrow for the folks you interview. Some of this is healthy, to build empathy and feel compassion. In instances like Leona's, it is really obvious that she is clear minded and has thought about the feminist theories that drive this industry into a new era. I'm really pleased that you've interviewed her and that she was able to speak to another perspective. Just because the industry suffers from a heavy dose of misogyny does not mean that every player is taking that perspective. In feeling sorrow for those who are suffering and do not have a choice, it puts us at the fork in the road to evaluate our gut response. Is someone in this industry inherently bad? No. But -- if someone is suffering greatly due to society's ailments and sees a path forward in the game of making money to survive and uses this as an avenue, we should be angry that the systems that have failed us still stand strong today, rather than being angry or saddened that someone like Leona is working to break the mold that we may have in our minds. Everyone uses their body every day if they are a laborer. Sex workers just make money off of things that society would rather have for free. I'd ask that in future interviews you frame your questions in a way that do not assume the answer. We cannot prescribe a perspective on someone until we hear their story.

For you to say everyone should respect me and what I do, is ridiculous in my opinion. That's not the world we live in, not everyone is going to respect you for shaking your ass for money thats just not reality. Lol. @@gvn1048 like I said I have no issue with it myself.. I actually have a cousin I grew up living right beside my house that does it for a living. But to expect the whole world to think exactly like you think when we have a whole world of individuals with their own thoughts and opinions is just not going to happen. Not only that but a lot of people see it as she's not even respecting herself so why should they respect her. Unfortunately that's just how it is, and me personally I believe in a world of free speech and freedom where I'm from, so like i said she's free to shake her ass and expect everyone to be cool with it, BUT everyone else is free to have their own personal opinion about it. At the same time there's people who work their ass off "flipping burgers" and people make jokes about them also, there's many professions that aren't respected and people have opinions about. It's shitty I agree, but it's the world we live in.

Have to say I'm intrigued why people are so messed up about sex, can we not just enjoy it for the excitement, and pleasure it gives? Many women turn to sex work with problems because it's a relatively easy quick way to make money but it doesn't mean everyone who does it will be troubled. Absolutely sex work should be consenting and done without exploitative coercion.
