Your vlog is a real trip through memory lane. My mom was there at the opening in 1952, at the age of 14. My first time was in 1967 when I was 4 and after that numerous times. At that time we all swom in the pond with the big elephant. An i went with my daughter at the age of 3 in 1997 for the first time and numerous times later.... the park is so dreamy, for all ages... i hope to be able to go there with my grandchildren in future... i am 60 now and dreamflight still gives me goosebumps... so happy for you guys seeing you had a blast..... fantastic...thank you!❤❤❤❤❤

When you were on the ride with the snales, its called land of laaf. They are the first residents in the Efteling. Youre travling trough their village. The cat you spotted was just one of the village members living around the park. You see them more often around the hotel. and somethimes in the fairytale park. So glad you enjoyed yourselves! Hope to see you next time

I ADORE Efteling, basically grew up there and am a very frequent visitor and your vlogs make me giddy with joy! Thanks for sharing! The whole park is so beautifully executed and even to this day it's just magical. My fave in the fairytale forest is definitely Hansel and Gretel (did you notice the candy sweet smell?), and the square that they're currently redoing. I love the pronounciations, haha, Dutch is a strange language. Anton Pieck would be pronounced 'peek'.
@sohelenaandmartyn Жыл бұрын
Yea! The smell coming from the Hansel and gretal house, I didn’t realise until Helena pointed it out. So much detail. The fairytale forest was a unique and brilliant part of the park. Thank you for letting me know about Anton Pieck 😊 x

The pool is the old sand-factory of Klaas Vaak. That's why it has that factory feel and some machinery. The buckets above the pool can be controlled with the levers on the side. It is fun for the kids :). Klaas Vaak also reds bedtime story's at the entrance of "badhuys" every night! Even the theming of the sleeping accommodation is amazing :) The little book and sleeping hats in the room are a gift. You can take them home!

I think you went the wrong way after Rapunzel ;-) Also the head entrance of the forest has this big beautiful sign in front of it. The forest starts with the Sleeping Beauty castle. For us older fans the fairytale forest is the first thing you think of when you think of the Efteling. Long neck is always used in commercials of the Efteling. He is a real mascotte of the park. So many childhood memories in that forest. And everything is still the same as they were when we were young. They added a few tales. I love international vlogs about Efteling. Us Dutch are so proud of Efteling.

To walk around the Fairytale Forest from the main entrance of it (it 's a bit further down the main road), it takes about 2 1/2 hours, or maybe longer depending on if you have small children with you. But it 's defenitely worth it!! It takes you back to your childhood. Fun for the entire family! Yes, for adults too! After all, we are all children, still, in a way... To quote Pardoes (the jester, and mascotte of the Efteling): use your imagination (fantasy), that is the source (power) of everthing that is magic(al)!! From the main Fairytale Forest entrance, the stories builds up. All of it in a green environment. A real forest. Maybe long, but it's sooo much fun!! Remember, some of it predates Disney.. And it 's all about fairytales, from the world. Some by the Grimm brothers, Hans Christian Andersen, and (former) Queen Fabiola of Belgium, and 1001 Arabian Nights. Other parts of the Efteling are unique, they are created by the Efteling. Love to see you've enjoyed it!💘
@sohelenaandmartyn Жыл бұрын
We could have spent so long in there. It had so much detail built into it. It was one of our favourite parts. I love that quote from Pardoes. Thank you for sharing. I think that definitely sums things up. Using your imagination is something we should never lose. Thank you for watching 😊❤️ x

There where 2/3 entrances, 2 are near the shop at the other end of the forest(entrances and exit). The other one was by the red shoes/pinoccio, which is now gone because of the new hotel/main entrance. Also the reason they open one by langnek. So not really a wrong entrences but the least fairy tale one. For that go to the shop and then to the left, sleeping beaty,and then just keep following the path. Untill you're back at the shop. The interactive in symbolica depends a bit on where you are but in the1st room its press as much as you can to get all the colors to opens the door to continue as o.j.punctuel(the lackey from the stairs) doesn't want you to. Pardoes then tells you by pressing all the colors the magic will open the doors. Then in the end-room its entering the instruments or color or... 😉 thats the one you still have to show.

This looks like such a beautiful place-will have to talk hubby into going there at some point. How much is there for kids? Not because I have kids(yet), but as someone who doesn't like heights, I don't really get on with big thrill rides! Also, Helena getting stuck on the slide must be a thing when you get older! When my niece was little, me and her Mum took her to a play centre and my niece was dragging me round-including going on slides! I got stuck on every single one-it was actually a lot of fun though!

It starts in November to January I believe.
