However, even if I understood why she behaved like that and how her mind worked that wouldn't mean me justfying her horrendous abuse. The theme of FuruBa is very beautiful and I love how it depicts mental health in its different characters but how could you simp for a woman who (kinda) groomed the men in the Sohma house, is misogynistic (being a woman herself thus a huge hypocrite), has abused CHILDREN who have done nothing to her until sending them to the hospital and laughed genuinely at the suffering of others.

Akito gets her redemption at the end of story, we hardly see the best Side of akito. This is why you are unable to see akito s complex character. She was brainwashed to be god, she is constantly abused by her mother, to akito, there is only one Bond and thats zodiac Bond. She doesnt understand normal relationship. This is why she abuse zodiac. She doesnt know normal relationship. She was at 9 years oldu when she starts abusing yuki. This isnt child abuse, when child is having mental breakdown, adult should help her but no, sohmas ignores both yuki and akito s pain, opposite, they supported akito, like what she did was normal. İn this sitution, sohma family/elders are the Real villains of this story because akito and yuki were just children and since akito was never properly raised, she couldnt grown up either. i can write more and more why she became like this. İf you want, you can easily find a lot of analysis about akito, her parallels with tohru. You will see how much tohru and akito are same. Reallyyy same. Just like other zodiacs, akito is cursed too but her curse was simply different from others. And she was hardest character to reach out, tohru couldnt help her until curse starts to break down with other zodiacs. Basically 1- akito s past pretty much explain why she turned out like this. This doesnt mean her actions justified. But even good people do unforgivable things. Sometimes life pushes us to do things. 2- she truly change, gets punishment and does her best. At this point, still blaming her is more abnormal. İf she was evil, she wouldnt change and since she is trying her best, wth is the point of blaming her? İ am saying you dont understand this story cause akito and her redemption is key point of this story. You cant understand tohru or other characters without understand akito and her redemption. And people can love whoever they want, you have no right to insult them like this. And after everything happenned manga, liking akito is the normal thing at this point.

When someone is infatuated by a person who is not in the right state of mind and prefers to be treated like garbage should seek help, I know I know, it’s fiction right? However imagine falling head over heels for a persona who abuses and threatens others at the point of breaking them, defending them and ignoring any sign of toxic behavior because they’re hot or because they like being treated that way, it’s not insulting to say and wish for people to realize stuff like this before they get endangered by a real Akito. And as said before, I understand, but as anyone in this world I rationally dislike her and you know what? That’s totally fine! People have freedom of understanding yet still disliking someone or a character (rationally of course). Also I never said she didn’t deserve redemption so please don’t go putting words in my mouth or stating things I never said. Now, I agree with you that most of the damage the characters suffered were from the adults, who taught them and treated them in very questionable and repulsive ways, FuruBa treats a very grey zone of mental illness and progress which I appreciate very much. But again, I understand Akito’s character and love to read or hear analysis form her to the other zodiacs and charas like Tohru. I like to see how Akito progresses from being a scum to being a loving mother but the damage is still done, she still almost killed Rin, punched Momiji and Kisa, groomed the men in the Sohma house and made everyone feel like garbage.
